Beirut @ Northside Festival
Beirut

Beirut is currently on tour in support of the release of the upcoming album The Rip Tide (album art below), which is available for pre-order. That tour has been expanded and now includes two NYC dates at Terminal 5 on September 21 and 22. Tickets go on sale Friday (7/8) at noon.

Beirut's last NYC show was in McCarren Park with Sharon Van Etten and Yellow Ostrich as part of the Northside Festival. We already talked about that, but here's a second set of pictures from the event in this post.

The rest of those pictures, all tour dates and Rip Tide album art below...

Do I remember seeing Wilco opening up for Sonic Youth at Summerstage couple years ago or is that my bad memory....

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 2:11 PM

anyone else boycott Term 5 just because of its inherent terribleness?

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 2:12 PM

Beirut should have booked this at either of these venues:
1) 3 nights at Town Hall
2) 2 nighst at Beacon Theater
3) 1 night at Radio City

I mean he's too "popular" now to play MHOW/Bowery/Webster....

shitty fans

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 2:13 PM

Artists book at the terrible Term 5 because they get more of a kick back. It's truly one of the worst venues in the city.

Next up YYYs and Pulp at Terminal 5.....

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 2:19 PM

Even if you don't like the band you have to admit these are awesome pictures.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 2:24 PM

As soon as I saw the word Terminal 5 I knew I wouldn't be seeing Beirut in NY this fall.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 2:47 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 3:31 PM

i hate terminal 5.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 9:52 PM

Can someone let me know why you all hate Terminal 5? It's not the most intimate venue in the world, but it usually has great sound and I've never had an issue getting a good spot on the floor level.

I don't get it.
