Beirut @ ACL Live
Beirut

Beirut are releasing their long-awaited third LP The Rip Tide on August 30 on Zach Condon's own Pompeii Records internationally and on Revolver in the US. New tracks "East Harlem" and "Goshen" both also appear on a limited edition single which is out now, and you can listen to both of those songs streaming below.

Beirut's recent live shows have included a sold out show at the Wellmont Theater in NJ, a small, private show in Stratosphere Sound Recording Studio, a small, private show in a Brooklyn loft, and a big show at ACL Live's Moody Theater in Austin last night (6/8) with Twin Sister. Pictures of Beirut from the Texas show are in this post (the Twin Sister pics are HERE).

Beirut's upcoming shows include Bonnaroo this weekend, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and a big Northside Festival show in McCarren Park with Sharon Van Etten which is now SOLD OUT (though they have to let some Northside Badgeholders in).

All tour dates, new song streams, new album tracklist, and more pictures from Austin, below...

So this new McCarren space is field next to where Pool shows were being held? Meaning the capacity at this new location can't be more than 3000.....

Pool's capacity was 5000

Regarding the type of people who would attend this show, again this goes to all the $70k salary-criticisizng posters: Tell me how many other 23 year olds are making that kind of money right out of college working in multimedia and I'll be quiet, but if you are going to sit here and suggest that the average salary for people my age (who aren't lawyers, engineers or working in the medical profession) then you're full of shit. The average income in the United States isn't even that much, you morons.

No I think it's the fenced space where people play softball north of the Turkey's Nest btw Bedford and Berry. Not sure on the capacity. I've got a Northside Badge though, how early should I get there?

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:11 PM

HAH Sold Out my ass. Nice try Northside Fest.
There will be more tickets available for cheap for this show than you can even begin to imagine.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:12 PM

This venue isn't right next to the Pool.
Its on the other side of McCarren Park, on the west side of Bedford, closer to the water, probably a quarter mile or so from the Pool.

"though they have to let some Northside Badgeholders in"

Hahahahaha. Good luck with that. I can't wait for the day-after "I could not get in" whining.

Brunchcore Park Slopers sold this show out.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:20 PM

honest question -- someone have a list of similar-sounding but more authentic artists than beirut that fit into whatever genre they're most likely associated with? balkan folk-pop or whatever.

thanks...

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:29 PM

1:06 just because you post the same comment on 3 articles doesn't mean you make that much

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:34 PM

1:34, what are you some brunchcore Park Sloper or something?

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:44 PM

No one will complain about not getting in because other than 1:11 no one bought a badge to this stupid event...

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:51 PM

@1:29 -- Magnetic Fields.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 1:51 PM

chicks with ukeleles = winning, if they're cute and/or have big tits
dudes with ukeleles = John Waters thinks that you are too gay

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 2:03 PM

New BV rule. In every post you must include your salary in order to ease 1:06's mind.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 2:04 PM

At 23 I made $22k and I was able to feed myself, pay rent, pay off a new car, go to shows and buy dope. So, kiss my ass 1:06, you whining pansy. You think NYC is too expensive, find a new job or go back to fucking Iowa. Stop posting inane shit here though.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 2:15 PM

NYC may be expensive, but the pay scales are higher as well. Anyone who has dealt with headhunters trying to fill jobs across the country will attest to that. Except for you humanities degree losers who work in foodservice, that is.

Beirut would be great if they actually played with that brass band from oaxaca. That'd be the show to see!

1:51 - That's not true. My girlfriend also bought a badge. That makes 2, jerk!

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 3:04 PM

Dudes with ukuleles > dudes who speak in Charlie Sheen memes

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 3:06 PM

You mean McCarren Park is gonna be filled with all Lebanese people?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 3:20 PM

I don't know what 2:15 is so mad about. 1:06 was defending lower salary New Yorkers in their post. Maybe 2:15 needs to quit the dope so he can be reasonable.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 3:21 PM

3:06 = even John Waters thinks that you are too gay, come out already!

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 4:32 PM

1:29, try Fejat Sejdc, Golden Horns, Zlatni Truba. You can pick these up from torrent sites like piratebay.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2011 6:08 PM

everyone in this band needs bigger cocks to fill their tight pants...
