Nick Bassett from Whirr/Deafheaven at Lovejoys (more by Samantha Marble)
Deafheaven

Congrats go out to Nick Bassett of Deafheaven, whose side project Whirr (formerly Whirl) has signed to Tee Pee Records. The band will begin recording the new LP in August for a release soon thereafter. Their current LP of shoegazey gorgeousness is called Distressor. Stream that LP in full below and get an e-copy via their bandcamp.

I haven't seen Whirr live, but I do know that Deafheaven wowed me at SXSW and will definitely do so when they play Cake Shop on June 17th with the also awesome Gholas.

Listen to "Violet" (we premiered the edit of "Violet" early this year) off Deafheaven's new LP Roads To Judah, and the album stream, below...

^ You got it all wrong. All of the guys in Deafheaven are my brothers from different marriages. Its the only reason I post about them ever.

Thanks for reading!

Whirl was before DeafHeaven. Just so we're clear.

DeafHeaven was george and kerry playing acoustic guitar before the bassett came around. DeafHeaven just happened to get signed before Whirl did, because its not hipster-black-metal, and jacob bannon loves that shit.
