Pitchfork gave Bon Iver 9.5

What the hell is going on?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2011 8:50 AM

I totally agree! That album really isn't that great at all!!!

Which way to the Thrift shop?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2011 8:59 AM

giving that album a 9.5 is so f--king absurd! Even if you think it's good, 9.5 is ridiculously outrageous!

Besides that hot chick, that crowd looks super bummed

i feel bad for anyone who paid money to get into this mess. (thank you press pass and complimentary vodka.) chav-heavy crowd, campy "djs" pressing the play button, dreadful food.

Goddamnit fuck pitchfork. it seems like twice a year they pull this shit out of their pretentious ass

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2011 9:22 AM

Bon Iver getting a 9.5 is Pitchfork's way of jumping the shark on the pussification of music.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2011 9:26 AM

The way I see it is that Arcade Fire's Funeral 9.6 started the death rattle, Animal Collective MPP 9.6 was the peak overhype in "indie" rock and Bon Iver's 9.5 is the death blow to it all.

Bon Iver sales are surely going to skyrocket now. Expect a limited time $3.99 offer at Amazon's mp3 store to seal the deal. We all know how this works by now. On the counter at Starbucks, spread in the Sunday Times, my idiot co-workers will be talking about it. Brace yourselves, Yawn Iver is here to stay.

Just another reason not to follow Pitchfork. They are obviously trying to make a stand by giving it such high praise. The album is an obvious turd and Pitchfork is trying to leverage their power in this guys favor/make the people that follow Pitchfork challenge their own tastes.

YAWN IVER
