I don't buy her whole shtick. I'd love to see her trying to act all witchy when she's buying groceries doing laundry.

@2:57 have you heard her more recent EPs? goth-pop with a heavy emphasis on the POP.

Why does Boston get two Iceage dates in one week while the other side of the state gets zero?

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 3:19 PM

Bush > Zola Jesus

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 3:23 PM

@3:19 Not that helps you probably, but I think that Paragon show is actually at the Cafe Paragon in Provindence RI not Boston.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 3:42 PM

because Boston sucks, much like Iceage. There you go, perfect fit!

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 3:50 PM

Thanks 3:42. For some reason I thought there was a Paragon Theatre at Emerson College where Xiu Xiu recently played but maybe you're right.

And 3:50... you're right about Boston.

Just saw Zola Jesus at Sled Island. She puts on quite the performance!

is this lady being suffocated?

i HATE boston. when did NYC become so weak where these transplants can walk around the streets of manhattan & brooklyn wearing their red sux caps without any fear of name-calling, let alone an actual altercation. try wearing a Yankees cap in south boston and see if you come out of there unscathed.

but i like zola jesus, cult of youth, cold cave AND ice age, so maybe i'm the wuss that's part of the problem.

Zola Jesus is god awful.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2011 9:36 PM

Has the Ice Age backlash already started? I hated them before I even heard them.

4:28 PM: Nobody should have to worry about getting beaten up because of wearing something of a sports team.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2011 9:59 AM

yeah, they should be severely beaten for their pseudofascist posturing. grow eyes in the back of your head you apoleteic pieces of shit

I am not impressed her music is hit or miss and she is not very original.....also both times I saw her live she acted like a drunk kid trying to use sex appeal but she is too ugly to do so, also she was really shallow from what I heard her saying backstage.....good thing she moved to LA.
