It's an incredible show. I like the trailer but it does slightly cheapen the experience by making it look like it's just one big neon party. I mean, it's great fun, but most people I know found it a pretty moving perfomance - there's a lot of melancholy and regret (and melodrama) to strike a nice contrast.

Put your cynicism on one side, Brooklynites. A bunch of equally cynical Londoners were left with their jaws on the floor last month.

Sorry folks, but it appears as though this night of neon took place many moons ago on August 2 & 3, 201

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 12:23 PM

That's not dance music.

Posted by Stephen Whitfield | June 23, 2011 12:26 PM

Just play John Wayne Gacy Jr. and get it over with! That's all anyone wants to hear!

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 12:39 PM

He played it at Beacon night one

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 12:43 PM

Sufjan holds a place in my heart but I just want to let out a huge sigh and shake my head.

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | June 23, 2011 1:04 PM

This is Sufjan's fuck you to James Murphy for asking the audience to wear black and white to his "final" live show at MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 1:20 PM

Cat Martino singing, in hot shorts. There.

"12:46(b) - you're off by about 250 years, but thanks for playing and better luck next time"

They're a band, stupid.

Neon is so electro.

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 2:10 PM

I just want to wear my piano keys neck tie.

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 2:20 PM

I don't have any neon clothes. I generally only wear the color TAN... And the reason for that should be obvious.

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 2:28 PM

"This is Sufjan's fuck you to James Murphy for asking the audience to wear black and white to his "final" live show at MSG."

I'd say it's more of a variation on the black/white thing from James. That is, if that's what even crossed Mr. Stevens' mind.

I'd hardly call this a "fuck you".

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 2:29 PM

I think you guys all need to get out more.

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2011 2:36 PM

I think we all need to talk about Cat Martino more. <3 her.
