The Wave Pictures at BV SXSW 2010 (more by Tim Griffin)
The Wave Pictures

The Wave Pictures released a new album called Beer in the Breakers in May via Moshi Moshi and are currently playing European shows in support of the album. A full US tour hasn't been announced yet, but the band will make a short visit to North America in August. While they're here, they'll play Mercury Lounge on August 17 and The Rock Shop in Brooklyn on August 25. Tickets for the Mercury show go on sale Friday (7/1) at noon. Rock Shop tickets are on sale now. If they have other dates scheduled in between those, we don't know about them yet.

The band released a 7" single for the album track "Blue Harbour" b/w "I Walked Past Them Sleeping" on June 13. Check out the Ben Reed-directed video for "Blue Harbour" and all known tour dates below...

Loving the new song. This band is more talented than 90% of the hyped up Brooklyn bands.

Absolutely. Indie pop maestros, deserve a lot more love.

Good band but this album sounds like a near-carbon copy of Instant Coffee Baby (great album, but I only want one version of it thanks).
