DOWNLOAD: Twin Sister - "Bad Street" (MP3)

Twin Sister @ ACL Live
Twin Sister

Twin Sister have a new album in the works, and like Real Estate's new one, it will be coming out on Domino Records. They'll release their debut full length In Heaven via Domino on September 27. Download the track "Bad Street" above. Stream it and check out the full tracklist, below.

Twin Sister kicked off a tour at ACL Live's Moody Theater in Austin last night (6/8). Pictures from that show, where they opened for Beirut (pictures HERE), are in this post.

Their trek continues in Houston tonight and eventually reaches Music Hall of Williamsburg on 6/18 with Allo Darlin', Ava Luna, and Gabriel and the Hounds. The previously mentioned Brooklyn show is part of the Northside Festival and still on sale for those without badges. Twin Sister played the same venue during the Northside Fest last year.

This is great news. And they look so good given they must be, what, almost 60 years old now. Can't wait to hear what other Slade covers they will do.

Glad to watch this excellent band grow outside the hype circus. Can't wait for the new CD.

I am not a TS hater usually but this song is really bad. Would much rather listen to Toro y Moi do this kind of lo-fi disco.

New song is painfully boring. I'd almost rather listen to that new coldplay song. Almost.

i liked Color your life but it sounds like her voice got worse. did she start/stop smoking or something? Such a shame. hope the rest of the record is better.

DJ Svarta Fanan Weiner Walter is playing house techno music now?

this band were so great when they were just putting out their own little albums .now they're signed, not only does the music seem flat but the image just repels me. sorry to see it go...

Now that I've heard the song, I'm confused. The vocals are off, up until the "I want it bad" chorus (which blows my load). Her voice is a giant draw, and it's out of tune and the coo forced and flat. The music is pretty spot on, perhaps veering too much into Cardigans territory. A "Life" to "First Band on the Moon" comparison seems appropriate--Twin Sister is slicker now, and maybe something got lost along the way.

This is just one song though, and when I saw the band last (six months ago?) they were flawless. I hope to get into the Northside Festival gig to find out what's going on for real.

The 80's are over. Now it's all about disco. First Toro, Now Twin Sis.. "I want it bad."

Andie Estella + Twin Sister 4eva!

This is sort of a strange choice for a first single though. It's more of a dance-jam without much melodic interest compared to their more pop songs. These kind of songs sound a lot better in a club or at a live show compared to chilling at home.

even hipsterrunoff thinks its not good. Does not bode well.

Can't wait for September and the CD release! Great grooves, and voice--I'll have to chill to Vampires w/ Dreaming Kids and Color Your Life (and Meet the Frownies)until then. Great live shows! Williamsburg next! BV--best site for pix!
