Drake, SBTRKT & Sampha @ Wrongbar - 7/8/2011
SBTRKT

As you might know, Drake remixed/rapped over the SBTRKT track "Wildfire" which otherwise features Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano on vocals. Last night (7/8), SBTRKT played a show at Wrongbar in Toronto. As we mentioned, a super special guest was expected in addition to SBTRKT vocalist Sampha. Guess who that was? Videos below.

SBTKRT plays PS1 Warm Up in NYC TODAY (7/8) and then DJs or plays at Coco66 afterwards. (SBTRKT DJ'd at Glasslands on Wednesday night).

lol, clueless 18 year old commenters!

2:26 - I hear you. 20 years ago, a Canadian child actor would never have been accepted in the hiphop community as a credible rapper. Now that 14 year old white girls like rap, this is possible.

How do you pronounce SBTRKT? it's like one of those license plates you try to decipher, only to realize it was the state issued number, and not a vanity plate.

^Pronounce it "subtract." With these type of band names, all you have to do is add the missing vowels.

News on a DJ set in another country.
Where can I find out about real music around here?

I don't even listen to rap but so what if he was a canadian child actor? I may not be into his music but I've seen a few interviews with him and at least he doesn't come across as some street kid that can't complete a sentence without cursing or saying nigger. I suppose for you his decent upbringing invalidates his artistic credibility? This would be the same reason that someone like will smith stopped making rap music, because people WANT to hear music about guns, violence and disrespecting women. Why else would people like the one who posted above not "accept" someone just because he's from a good neighborhood and has a history of being an actor. Sadly had he been a drug dealer for you his art would have more merit and this is EXACTLY the reason I don't listen to rap music. I disagree with most of the people that make it and the people that listen to it. Interestingly enough these same people then complain about the language and culture surrounding this music.
