IDENTITY Fest

Tickets to all dates of the the IDENTITY Fest tour, Jones Beach and PNC Bank Arts Center included, have been reduced to $20 today. The sale started at 9am today and lasts for "20 hours only" (thanks Danielle). I don't know what the set times are, but that's a pretty good deal even if you just go for DJ Shadow and watch (dance to) one or two acts before him.

LMAO

Price reduced by $100. Nice going on the original prices, dummies. Greed does not always win

Is it easy to get to Jones Beach from the city on Sundays via PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 1:18 PM

Maybe it's just me, but I think the bubble is starting to burst on this oversaturation of festivals and mini-fests. The guy who organizes Glastonbury recently said he thinks their festival will only last another few years. When Ryan Seacrest and the radio pop world put together a two day festival in Vegas with the most generic radio acts (and oddly enough, Jane's Addiction) you know the fad is on its last leg. Listen promoters... If you're trying to jump in on it at this stage, you're a few years late.

How do you get to PNC from NYC if you don't have a car.....

there's no train or bus that goes to the venue correct?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Anyone know if DJ Shadow will have his "Shadowphere" stage again?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 1:26 PM

There won't be any Guido's there... will there?

Paramore is playing Terminal 5 on 9/7!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 1:50 PM

Mickey, can you confirm the rumor of Prince Rama/ Balloon lauch as headliner? Killer lineup!

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 1:56 PM

if someone doesn't start a band called Purple Balloon go *POP*, there is no god

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 1:56 PM

They call it IDENTITY fest because by being there, you'll wonder if you have an identity at all.

Steve Aoki fucking sucks. Have you seen him live? He just head bangs and shouts into a mic. It actually made my boner that I had grinding up on some chick in a cut up mickey mouse tee (no bra) go down. If my dad owned Benihana, I'd at least try to make good music.

I'm going for the Special Guest James Murphy. Glad I paid full price.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 2:18 PM

gah! i'd totally go see this. looks way better than the zoo. too bad its not closer.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 2:19 PM

2:05 you failed miserably with that joke.

Posted by Venkman | July 13, 2011 2:19 PM

this rox! thanks for the tip!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 2:22 PM

All joking aside, $20 for Modeselektor and DJ Shadow is pretty awesome. Ok, back to the jokes....this scene BLOWS!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 2:23 PM

Festival = random "meaningful" name + some bands you wouldn't see individually, but together it somehow justifies the whole thing + colorful forgettable promo art + big corporate sponsor

= $120 tickets

Example (randomly-generated):

The Sierra Mist "Life is Good" Festival
featuring

Interpol
Gomez
Beady Eye
Naked and Famous
Hooray for Earth
Obscure member of Odd Future
DJ set by bassist of semi-popular indie band

I've been saying this since they first started advertising this event, but "Who the fuck want's to dance in a seated amphitheater?"

Also, Erol Alkan took himself off the ballot (tear) because he probably realize there is no hummus in long island.

this is the lcd reunion show.

Somebody get a video camera. If there ever was a better opportunity to film "Hipster Douchebag Parking Lot", then I don't when else.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 3:50 PM

2:19: It's ok. Not everybody can be as great as I am. You understand.

I am awaiting the festival of all festivals... The mighty Hummusfest 2011.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2011 9:33 PM

If they reduce the price by $15, provide free transportation, and add a proper headliner, I will think about going.

Posted by Venkman | July 14, 2011 12:23 AM

long island, a faraway land that is indeed barren of hummus

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2011 2:40 PM

seriously can someone please explain the appeal of this? electro fest in a seated amphiteater in long island? AND jones beach is totally DRY - no booze. sounds like a bad trip waiting to heppen.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2011 2:42 PM

you hipsters are such douchebags. "even if you just go for dj shadow".... dude dance music is taking over the fucking world. there's alot better and more talented acts than just dj shadow.... yall need to be a little more open minded. ps it takes a lot more talent to make edm than fucking stupid uncreative hip hop beats.
