"One of the sickest shows I have ever been too,
James Blake blew the roof that bitch." - Lily Nunez

James Blake

James Blake played to a sold out crowd at Webster Hall last night (7/13). His set included all of the James Blake standouts as usual, but also some interesting additions. He played a live version of "CMYK" which he only recently began doing (video below). He ended his set with a cover of Digital Mystikz' "Anti-War Dub" and then returned for an encore to play "The Wilhelm Scream" and a new track, "Tell Me, Are You With Me" (video below).

Catch James at Webster Hall again on October 5 as part of his fall tour. Teengirl Fantasy opened the show, though we missed them. They have other upcoming shows too.

More pictures, videos, and the setlist from the Webster Hall below...

Relatively riveting set.
There were some schmaltzy moments, but hey the guy is certainly channeling something. Great sound & lighting btw.

Question though
Next play: United Palace or Terminal 5 or some kind of church setting? Because you know he'll be back in the Winter, to set up his Central Park Summerstage return next year.

How can some dude and a keyboard "roof that bitch"?

Maybe in the overly sensitive, pansy boy, weak ass roof building.

So was the crowd quiet? B/c when I saw him at MHOW and LPR, people wouldn't shut up especially girls.

Good music? A night out with friends? Yeah, generally I'd think young people would find that 'cool'

I didn't care for Blake's music at first because I basically brushed him off without giving an acutal chance. I thought he was too lathered in hype for the songs to have any value. Man, was I wrong. I listened to his album from start to finish a few months ago and was REALLY into it, very impressed! Almost every song is solid and it has become one of my favorite records of the year.

All the standouts??? How many songs does that dude have, 12? So basically, it played his whole catalog

I used to be terribly addicted to NyQuil and Oxy, in order to just get to sleep at night. The night terrors had me, and I could only achieve any peace and freedom but from these chemicals. That is, until I head James Blake ... Thank you James Blake for doing what only NyQuil and oxycodone could previously do. Your music is able to put me right to sleep, and I stay asleep so long as your music plays. Today I live free of chemicals. Thank You Again James Blake!

12:35 - please do everyone a favor and go back to sleep

It was mostly girls and bros hooting and hollaring and James quietly acknowledging, and doing LTJ Bukem interpolations.

Well, you should keep in mind that it was one of the "sickest shows she has ever been too." That says something.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2011 1:14 PM

i've only read about this guy. the people of internet makes it sound like he's good. i just watched the videos and this might be the worst thing i've possibly seen/heard in a very long time...

Such boring live pics. It seems like any show that anyone goes to these days is considered the "sickest ever". I'd really like to know what other artists these people have seen.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2011 1:45 PM

Just look at those pics at ppl staring at their phones. They sure look riveted

Dear Lily,

Please get out and see more shows. Your bar for "sickest" seems to be set far too low.

Love,

JT

2:45 thinks he knows people from one anonymous comment and therefore can make generalizations while be totally condescending to the people reading his comment. Pot, meet kettle.

"2:45 thinks he knows people from one anonymous comment and therefore can make generalizations while be totally condescending to the people reading his comment. Pot, meet kettle."

Never mind that little douchenozzle. He's been posting his "poetry" off and on, trying to spread all that fecal matter. I guess when you're bedridden and taking AZT on a frequent basis, you have a lot of free time.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2011 5:00 PM

Will you listen to the pussy at :34 sec in the last video wimper about how they're about to cry. Hysterical!

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2011 5:33 PM

These comments make me hate millennials!

That's some truly awful shit. Basically pop music for postmodern idiots who delude themselves that they're smart.
