how is this different than a weekend in brooklyn?

"how is this different than a weekend in brooklyn?"
It's different because it's not happening in brooklyn.
Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2011 8:33 PM
what's with all the face paint? did i miss the memo or something?
Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2011 8:59 PM
How was the pit?
Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2011 9:57 PM
Get over yourself, Brooklyn d-bag.
Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2011 11:11 PM
It is different from a weekend in Brooklyn because I didn't have to go home to my bedbug infested apartment.
Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2011 11:31 PM
8:59 agreed... Why paint ur face?
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 12:22 AM
This is different from a weekend in Brooklyn because girls are friendlier in Chicago than in Brooklyn...I'm not kidding...at all.
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 2:22 AM
Agreed 222 about the friendliness of the locals. If I wasn't invested in my job and had family in NY, I would be living in Chicago in a heartbeat.
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 3:04 AM
Them New York girlz gotta take those sticks out of there asses!!

i live in brooklyn and am not from the midwest but everyone needs to stop hating on this. a lot of bands don't tour to many of the places that the people who go to p4k fan live often. let them have their fun.
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 9:37 AM
Hah, dorks who can't get girls in Brooklyn want to move to Chicago. That's just about right...
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 9:50 AM

Let's just find a way to hate everything
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 11:03 AM
I've lived in both places (Williamsburg and Chicago). Honestly, it's a personal preference. I loved living in Brooklyn--people were generally friendly, and you are surrounded by great music and other forms of art. But is it better than Chicago? I think not. Midwesterners are not all pasty, fat people in puffer jackets. Did I mention I also that there are a lot of people who flew in from NYC for Pitchfork this weekend? Because, alas, this is not an ordinary weekend in Brooklyn, and they are smart enough to know it.

There is not one attractive person in that crowd. Chicago peeps are all ugly Polish assholes.
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 12:19 PM
I kinda like the warpaint look. It's fun. Ever hear of it?
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 12:23 PM
Saw Neko Case up close on day 2. She looked like a lunch lady. And she was not eager to talk to me, either, even for ten minutes. Looking forward to today, tho.

Chicago is cool if you're into fat chick. Fuck that land locked fly over scene.
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 1:08 PM
does neko case still smell?
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 1:35 PM
Not our rival!
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 1:49 PM
Girls here are okay looking but there are fewer stunners. I feel in NYC I can find a Zooey D lookalike on every corner. Here you have to really search. Just my two cents.
Posted by Mitchfork | July 17, 2011 2:02 PM
Neko is definitely dying her hair at this point....the red head fetish has passed for me.

the face paint is a tune-yards thing, i think - everyone wore it at pier 54, too. kids are totally fanatical about her!

How's the hummus in Chicago?
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 3:36 PM
The hummus joke is not big in Chicago yet. It is hurting my feelings that I have been posting here for the last two days from the festival and no one follows my new twitter.
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 3:54 PM
^can we get a pit report?
Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2011 4:21 PM

"As a laywer, I find it very interesting when bands thank their sound and merch people but don't mention the people doing legal work behind the scenes."
I am an indie-loving lawyer in Chicago and am live-tweeting Pitchfork today from the festival. Follow me at Mitchfork. I am trying to give some unique insights on the festival.

Chicago smells like geriatric Albini balls. Irtrlevant since '96
Posted by Anonymous | July 18, 2011 1:26 AM
The average chick is better looking in Chicago than New York I think. More high end talent in NYC because of modeling, but if you ever really casually do the percentages in your head while you're on the street, it really is staggering how many ugly women there are in NY.
Posted by Anonymous | July 18, 2011 2:54 AM
10 minutes talking to you would seem like forever to a normal person. leave Neko alone you creep mitchfork.

So this the Chicago vs. New York article?
We've had NY/BK/WB/whateverthefuckyouwanttocallit vs. Philly, then Boston, now this.
Guys, there's a way we settle how which city trumps the others. It's called professional sports!
Posted by Anonymous | July 18, 2011 10:04 AM
it's an awful lot of music for $110.
