BEN SHEPHERD!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 8:44 AM

My friends laughed at me when I told them that I had substituted potatoes for chick peas in my favorite hummus recipe. But then I brought out the fruits of my labor, and they stopped laughing long enough to dip their pitas and eat. Yes, they said, that is one excellent fauxmmus. It all came from a little thinking outside of the box. We need more creativity, especially these days. After all, we all know just how outside-the-box bands such as The Strokes are, and look at them. Success and critical acclaim. So, just some food for thought (pun intended) - maybe unlucky at music, lucky at fauxmmus.

I don't know, sounds like Soundgarden sucked pretty bad last night in Car Jack City. Is Soundgarden over? Hmmmm, don't know but .....

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 9:11 AM

Soundgarden ruled last night! I'm going again tonight!

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 9:13 AM

what time did soundgarden go on last night?

Posted by Johann | July 9, 2011 9:25 AM

tickets for THE HORRORS @ the studio at webster hall (super small) went onsale today at 10AM on ticketweb

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:12 AM

Soundgarden never headlined/sold out arenas in the 90's when they were popular. Why are they booked in arena-sized venues now? (not selling those out, either.. both NY area shows are/were pretty much half sold... pathetic.)

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:14 AM

fuck i missed those horrors tickets - where were you on that one BV?

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:15 AM

salem djing at bk bowl sounds confusing

SNDGRDN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:16 AM

soundgarden was funny until i STARTED MISSING TICKETS BECAUSE NO ONE ON THIS BLOG IS REPORTING ACTUAL SHIT

i'm talking about the horrors @ the studio at webster hall. you all don't give a shit now, but their new album will win best new music and then we'll see who's gay for them

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:19 AM

I'm gay for Olive Garden, not Soundgarden.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:20 AM

They have good potatoes at the olive garden?

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:22 AM

The Horrors > Any crappy british band from the 90s

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:30 AM

Ted!

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:35 AM

I've never eaten at the olive garden. How's the quality of food at those joints? This is a food blog, no?

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 10:41 AM

If Soundgarden doesn't play "She likes Surprises" tonight, I'm throwing apples at Ben Shepherd. And my apples are hard. You've been warned.

@10:15/10:19 - He didn't devote a whole separate thread to it but yes...BV did post about The Horrors tickets going on sale this morning. You must have gotten distracted by reading all this recent grunge and potato dip crap.

Any show at Newark is always contender for show of the year. Not like MHOW! Hahaha!

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 12:14 PM

Soundgarden.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 12:43 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 1:50 PM

10:14 - soundgarden DID play/sellout arenas in the 90s. prudential center last night was mostly full.

but the sound was terrible and overall the show was underwhelming. annnnd i made the mistake of getting there early enough to see coheed and cambria.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 2:24 PM

Ted's streak of shit weather finally comes to an end! This show will be epic!

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 2:35 PM

soundgarden rules yo

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 3:11 PM

Soundgarden does not 'rule.' They were awful in the 90's and gives a bad name to the cash grab reunion tour today.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 3:24 PM

Soundgarden is where It's at! Hipsters are hating because they hate rock music!

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2011 3:29 PM

Screaming Females are gonna kill it!

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2011 8:00 AM

Soundgarden were underwhelming. I went to Newark and Jones Beach. Both shows were boring. The sound was better at Jones beach, but other than that, the tours a cash grab joke.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2011 8:18 AM

Matt Cameron is a better drummer in Pearl Jam.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2011 8:24 AM

Matt Camerons a second-rate Neil Peart. He's inferior to a drummer of Neil Pearts caliber. He belongs in Pearljam. Meh.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2011 8:33 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 10:24 AM

Jones Beach was amazing! I have gone to every show of the tour.
still... the vic theater show was the best so far.

Soundgarden needs to go away...

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 10:34 AM

10:27, you really need to get a job or something. And get those spoons out of my face, yo.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 10:46 AM

Spoonman is the worst song ever written in the history of music.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 10:53 AM

I have one ticket for Soundgarden in Philadelphia, mention BV and get preference => http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/tix/2488124807.html

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 11:02 AM

"who cares ^^"

I care.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 11:08 AM

10:53 sure it is a silly song but I can think of dozens of songs by Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey that would sooner fall in that category!

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 11:08 AM

11:08
Thanks - you just equated Soundgarden to Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. Yup, that seems about right.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 11:12 AM

No I was comparing one song that someone thinks is the worst song ever to artist who truly desirve the title of worst song ever.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 11:16 AM

11:12: What the hell are you even talking about?

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 11:40 AM

^ 11:40 here. Disregard the above comment actually.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 11:42 AM

at this show (which was fantastic) i went to get a glass of white wine and saw a waitress i recognized. i asked her if she was enjoying hearing the show and she said yes and asked who was playing (she's from ireland). i said ted leo and the bartender gave me my wine and confirmed yep, ted leo, that's his parents right there. and he pointed to the nicest looking older couple chillin at the outdoor bar, watchin the show. i said really, that's ted leo's parents? and he said yes and i said well what are they drinking and he said white wine, so i bought them a drink. as i walked back to my friends i turned around and they were cheersing and the bartender pointed me out, they smiled and waved and i gave them to peace sign. thanks mr & mrs leo for making ted so we can party all the time, party all the time.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2011 2:44 PM
