Buck 65's gonna be a good one! Bonus points for Bowery being indoors. I love DFA, but I don't envy anyone braving the weather.

Posted by Paul | July 22, 2011 2:41 PM

Looks like they're having a hard time selling out this show....

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 2:42 PM

yep agree with 242pm. as i said when this show was announced, this should have been two nights at webster hall, bowery or music hall.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 2:43 PM

It's not the heat at DFA that's going to be a problem. It will be the smells. OH god, the smells!

3:04 (2): DFH2011

HUEHUEHUEHUE!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 3:27 PM

I for one cannot wait to hear the DFA killed it comments tomorrow. They should be as hilarious as the the loser "can't wait for DFA tonight" comments now. At least it gives a good window into why the comments about shows on this site suck so hard nowadays. You can see the bad taste demographics that make up this place. Also, of course the show is not sold out. DFA selling out the Waterfront would be a clear sign the Rapture is indeed coming in October.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 3:37 PM

oh shit! the rapture is touring in october!?!

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 3:43 PM

what time does DFA go on? can't be in dat heat at 5farty

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 3:59 PM

secret Death Grips show tonight

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 3:59 PM

what do u guys think of U2? come on, dont u have any opinions?

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 4:01 PM

Its strange but all I want to do tonight is jump into a pool with my friends and drink NESTEA. Just NESTEA, nothing else.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 4:25 PM

i hate U2 more than life itself. they are the world's worst band. followed closely by the chili peppers. now p*ss off ye troll

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 4:39 PM

"I for one cannot wait to hear the DFA killed it comments tomorrow."

DFA won't kill tonight. The heat will.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 4:56 PM

4:38 i especially loved this:
"This summer Jelly has left their longtime home of Williamsburg, cut ties with the Open Space Alliance, dropped their Pool Parties series" - has left, cut ties, dropped... what a joke!

Posted by me | July 22, 2011 5:05 PM

No one cared about DFA1979 on their first run, but now everyone is going ape shit? I saw them with like 20 people and no one was even paying attention.

$40 tickets? Give me a break.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 5:06 PM

"gives a good window into why the comments about shows on this site suck so hard nowadays"

Yeah, it just ain't like 2008 when you moved to NYC from Buttfuck, Iowa. The whole city killed then.

Oh, by the way, we were cool before that dog fucked your mama and you came out, so fuck off back to the cornfields, OK tough guy?

Posted by Leaps Before It Looks | July 22, 2011 5:09 PM

i remember the dfa riot at sxsw.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 5:22 PM

Chances these dudes will tour again? If so, where will they play?

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 6:02 PM

More idiots commenting on Silent Barn getting info wrong.

"No one cared about DFA1979 on their first run, but now everyone is going ape shit?"

So, so true 506. Can anyone explain why they became such a hotly anticipated show in the years since they broke up? I actually loved their LP, but don't get this level of excitement at all.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 7:28 PM

No complaints with you monetizing your site BV...you've earned it...but the Braun and Nestea ads are a little over the top.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 8:07 PM

Not sure how the DFA1979 reunion fever happened either. Love the album and saw 'em at Tommy's Bar in Greenpoint and LIT when they first came around. They had a surge in public awareness after one of them started dating Kelly Osbourne and then they eneded up on a NIN tour but it's not like they were ever huge or anything. Oh...and before dickwad says it...I don't live with my parents now.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 10:46 PM

10:46 - kick save and a beauty! Even the judge from Bay Ridge clapped for that one.

Just got back from DFA. It was good, not the best show ever but equal in energy / intensity to a good Ramones show (when Dee Dee rejoined). Lots of kids, not that there's anything wrong with that. The two had good rapport from the stage, and the sound was clear and loud.

I must say this, however ... The Drums ... not good. Like The Smiths or New Order without the innovation or having something to say. Greatly disappointed with that part of the bill, and anyone who HONESTLY likes both Drums and DFA has either a woefully low self opinion or writes for Village Voice (or both)

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 11:16 PM

"equal in energy / intensity to a good Ramones show (when Dee Dee rejoined)"

Congrats to you sir. You win the prize of being today's Brooklyn Vegan douchebag retard. With an ass backwards comment like that you really seriously deserve to be run over by a car.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2011 11:31 PM

^^^ typical asswipe ... didn't go to the show, didn't do anything tonight actually, except sit by himself in his underwear, probably looking at kiddie porn, and full of hate from God know what. No, I think that you have won the Douchebag Of The Year award, by good man. Something tells me you are the idiot that got banished to icanhascheezburger.com today. Sorry, sir, but you are going to have to leave now. Rules is rules.

James Murphy Donuts - opens 28 July in Greenpoint

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 12:27 AM

DFA was amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 12:34 PM

well worth the wait

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 1:23 PM

11:16/12:01

Douche you compared a DFA show to a Ramones show. No one will ever be as big an idiot as you.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 1:48 PM

11:31 / 1:48 - please leave the adult room. you have already been asked nicely. go suck off your daddy again or whatever floats your boat, just do it somewhere else you troll.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 2:37 PM

I came here to see how that DFA show went. I didn't go (it was too hot for me. yeah, I'm a pussy). Looks like a few folks enjoyed it. And one typical jerk has to come along and just call the fans names. I am constantly amazed at the idiocy of some people, and I do so worry for the future of this country if left to a generation typified by such useless people. You know who you are.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 2:41 PM

I am 1:48 just here to respond to 2:37 who, by his own admission, is the same jackass who compared DFA to the Ramones. I know it is always the assumption by people on here that comments they don't agree with or goes against them are all the work of 1 person. A weak minded attempt of course to feel as if they are superior. Unfortunately for you dumbass I am not the same person. Yes it is true, more than one person thinks you are very stupid. Deal with it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 3:20 PM

"No one cared about DFA1979 on their first run, but now everyone is going ape shit? I saw them with like 20 people and no one was even paying attention."

Oh yeah!? Well I saw Radiohead when only 6 or 7 people came to their shows! Beat that!

Seriously, nobody gives a shit about this cooler-than-thou mentality.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 3:56 PM

This was a fun show except for that guy who puked everywhere.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 4:30 PM

"Seriously, nobody gives a shit about this cooler-than-thou mentality."

Then why did you make a point of mentioning your Radiohead "coolness" 3:56? You're exhibiting the exact same mentality that you're trying to condemn. The bottom line is this is a music blog and some of the older people who comment on it have seen cool, formulative shows (you obviously being one of them). Nothing to be embarrassed about, so deal with it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 5:29 PM

5:29 = totally missed the point. right on cue, as expected, because that's what trolls do.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 5:47 PM

5:29: 3:56 here (not 5:47). It was a sarcastic dig at the comment I responded to because it was one of those "I'm bitter at fans of a band I like, because I liked them when not everybody liked them". Annoying behavior that does not deserve to be treated with respect.

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2011 11:03 PM
