Afro Punk

That's a picture of the set times for this year's free Afro-Punk Fest Festival taking place on 8/27 & 8/28 in Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park. Click the image for a bigger view.

Cerebral Ballzy play on Sunday, one day before they strangely play a Daytrotter show at the Living Room.

Das Racist play this a few weeks before they launch a proper tour at Bowery Ballroom.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2011 2:37 PM

that list of acts is a very strange definition of 'punk'

maybe they should change it to 'afro-indie' or 'afro-hipster-douche' fest? but even then cee-lo sticks out like a tumor

that said if i were in town i'd get in early sunday & out after fishbone

afro punk has its roots in new york music history.
but this became long ago a racist concept created by a racist black.

Posted by anon | August 16, 2011 4:02 PM

^dude afro-punk has it's roots in Razzle's scheming. It's about the 20th concept he has tried to get over with in his 'career'.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2011 4:17 PM

Uhhh .. it's a free show with some cool bands.

You should protest the event. seriously

...just make sure your boobs are well secured beforehandbecause if you start jumping up and down waving a protest sign ... there's a chance they could bounce in double time.
