well if you live across the street...

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:30 AM

Idiots. No show is worth dying for. Well except for maybe Sugarland, but they are totally awesome!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:31 AM

Edan - just postpone the shows, if anybody gets hurt this will look a bit foolish in retrospect.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:31 AM

idiots

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:34 AM

"He died with Handcream watching Mannequin Pussy. Awkward and tragic."

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:34 AM

edan is a drama queen.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:36 AM

yeah fuck the mta, punk rock! idiot

Posted by sant | August 27, 2011 10:40 AM

Great idea dumbfucks. Especially since that place is 20 feet from the east river.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:41 AM

I love DBA but these shows should be cancelled. Huge safety issues aside, no one is gonna show up, so it does the bands no good. Plus, can you imagine trying to load gear in and out during a violent storm? I appreciate the DIY defiance but just let this one go dudes.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:42 AM

or, "fuck yeah - the mta! now none of that poorly-dressed scum from south bklyn will be able ugly up our shows.". stfu

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:44 AM

Just curious...what does the photo above have to do with DBA?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:44 AM

Death By Audio. Literally.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:54 AM

"Kreayshawn throws emergency free show being held in a rickety shack in the eye of the storm. (free 1-way shuttle bus provided)"

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 10:57 AM

ridiculous.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:16 AM

yeah this photo is really stupid

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:17 AM

This can only be good for the gene pool.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:23 AM

somebody's gonna get "hurt"!?
Safety Issues?
From a little fucking wind and rain?
Stop drinking the Weather Channel Kool Aid, kids.

Posted by joe | August 27, 2011 11:25 AM

the dude in the picture is wearing a "Personal and the Pizzas" shirt and they're playing at DBA tonight.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:30 AM

why would you have a show when nobody can get to it?

safety issues aside, if there are no trains and buses running, why would you still hold the show? just stupidly defiant if you ask me and not fair to people who would want to go but can't get there now.

Fuck the MTA? the MTA don't care about your show. You are really fucking the fans of these bands that can't see the show that you are still stubbornly going to go ahead with to an audience of very few if anyone at all.

reschedule guys, do the right thing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:42 AM

Just stupid. No subway, I wanna go home man! Better to be safe than sorry.

Posted by Weeb | August 27, 2011 11:43 AM

Death by Cigarette Smoke > Death by Hurricane @ DBA

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:52 AM

so basically you are putting this show on only for whoever happens to live in the few blocks around the venue that are actually interested in going to this?

dumb business move man.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:54 AM

yeah you are really sticking it to the MTA.

those six figure salaried honchos at the MTA are gonna be really irked that you are going ahead with your little punk rock show.

Meanwhile the punk kids all over NYC that wanna go to this show can't go because they can't get there, so who are you fucking?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:56 AM

DBA= Dumb Bunch of Aholes

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 11:57 AM

I think the point here is that the MTA is stupid for shutting down completely so early.
There are certainly trains that could run, have run, during inclement weather.
So it's not a "Fight the Power"-type Fuck you.
It's just a straight "FUCK YOU".

Posted by ??? | August 27, 2011 12:05 PM

Stupid, no one will be there.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:22 PM

what exactly is accomplished by still holding this show this evening?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:24 PM

I would've gone to this tonight, but since I can't I wont.

easy decision.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:25 PM

why not just reschedule?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:26 PM

anyone that goes to this that doesn't live across the street or in the club is an idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:27 PM

Attention hipsters
FREE Wavves Show tomorrow at the beach!
Please go!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:39 PM

this is just some hyped up bullshit put together by people really trying to get a name for themselves. i pray for these people because in the worst case scenario, they could be dead. i dont care how downgraded it gets. you stay open and advertise, telling people to come out, you get them to risk their lives for some shitty bands that probably will have their life savings ruined when they realize THEIR EQUIPMENT IS SOAKED AND FUCKING BROKEN. i'm not hatin- this is just a damn foolish idea, fueled by ignorance and sheer disregard for common sense. fuck the mta? fuck dba in my opinion.

Posted by frustrated with haters | August 27, 2011 12:41 PM

I forsee a flood damage Kickstarter.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:42 PM

Holy Shit, that blazer and short and awful bag combination is a tropical storm of its own. Please change the picture. AWFUL.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:48 PM

Fuck you gays. Show should go on, think these bands want some pussy faggot commenters coming to their shows? They would probably rather die. So many faggots commenting on this blog. Especially the business tip asshole. Pick up something and hit yourself with it till it's all over and your in a place with no storms, nothing bad, just a bunch of other commenters that agree with your bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 12:56 PM

Fuck Irene, I'll be there.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 1:13 PM

"So many faggots commenting on this blog."

To be fair, I think most of these commenters are straight.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 1:14 PM

i was thinking of going.

But knowing that i might run into the 2 fashion disasters shown above, i am now firmly a no go

sorry hipsters, you will have to carry on without me

sincerely, hummus man

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 1:25 PM

"From a little fucking wind and rain?"

@Joe 11:25 - Now that DBA has done the right thing and cancelled these shows, let's get to you. Do us a little favor...try standing outside in the middle of Irene and let all us pussies know what "a little fucking wind" feels like...after you pick the piece of flying tree limb out of your ass.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 2:31 PM

@ anonymous 2:31

People in NYC can't handle a little weather. You are a pussy!

Posted by head cheese | August 27, 2011 7:37 PM

^Hey "head cheese"...I'm originally from a Great Lakes state and have endured blizzards and a tornado or two. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Do me a favor...tomorrow go outside and take a morning stroll with Joe 11:25 (if you're not one in the same).

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2011 7:53 PM

Dear 2:31,
joe and DBA were right.
You and the MTA were wrong.
Go fuck yourself.

Posted by The Weatherman | August 28, 2011 11:02 AM

Dude, do you really need to be walked through the logic of preparing for the worst-case scenario rather than the best?

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2011 11:28 AM

Dear 11:02. No you're wrong. Sewage is overflowing in Manhattan, Rockaway is flooded, so is LIC and City Island.

Get over it.
