Deertick

Deer Tick are set to release their new LP Divine Providence on October 25th via Partisan Records. The album was produced by the band, in conjunction with Adam Landry and Justin Collins in their native Rhode Island. It's not only the follow up to 2010's Black Dirt Sessions, but will also mark the group's fourth album in only five years.

The record's single, "Miss K." is available for FREE streaming / download via a mini-site they've created. Divine Providence will be up for pre-order soon via Partisan Records in CD, Vinyl, and Digital Formats.

In support of the album, the band will hit the road for a North American tour this fall. From mid-October to mid-November they'll hit all major tour stops including: Philly, DC, Austin, LA, Chicago, and then some. All dates are listed below.

The tour will conclude right here in NYC, with a big Webster Hall show on November 20th. Like most of the dates, NYC will receive an opening set from Virgin Forest (aka Phosphorescent minus frontman Matthew Houk). Tickets for the NYC show are on AmEx presale now, and go on general sale this Friday, at noon.

Catch Virgin Forest even sooner this Thursday night (8/25) at Bruar Falls in Brooklyn.

You can view Divine Providence's tracklisting and cover art, plus all 2011 tour dates, and a 2nd set of photos from the recent free Pier 54 show, an an (((unartig))) video from that show, below...

Holy fuck, is there any band that plays NYC more than this? Fake Americana bullshit, there's nothing worse. Go away. Go play the south, dorks.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 6:46 PM

Deer Tick is great. Shut the fuck up.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 7:32 PM

What a terrible, crap band

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 7:51 PM

not enough coverage of them here......

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:10 PM

Anyone who sqays they are a terrible crap band obviously hasn't seenthem live, and has no idea wTF they are talking about.

BV, please initiate a login for commenting. The shit talking is too much.

not one crowd shot beyond barrier. was it empty?

Posted by jan jansson | August 24, 2011 9:26 PM

This is one of the best bands in the US right now. They are on par with Wilco, circa 1997-1999. Their live shows are always full-on parties that last longer than most other bands, they play neat covers, they don't hold anything back. And at the end of the show they always hang out with the crowd. Good guys, great music. If you don't like them, the problem is you being a dick.

GAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Steve Jobs Resigned!!! I'm typing so fucking hard I might break my fucking Mac book Air!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 10:02 PM

anon 9:32. that's like 1/4 of the space they're showing with that photo - definitely more then deer tick usually play too. it's a huge space. but, it's also a free show. just curious.

Posted by jan jansson | August 24, 2011 10:15 PM

I've seen them, Thalia Zedek opened. Strange pairing, she was great but these dudes were total bro-rock. Whats the O/U on number of years before they share a bill with Dave? I give it two summers, tops.

Fuck em.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 10:30 PM

Im not a huge fan of Deer Tick but I really respect their work ethic. Haven't seen a band that plays as many shows as them

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 11:15 PM

why do you make us scroll through all the picture before the tour dates?

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 11:45 PM

Check the BV coverage of this band this month. The longest show of the tour they just finished was a show they played for free for charity in the middle of nowhere.

Posted by Anonymous | August 25, 2011 12:01 AM

Is this a hummus-wave?

Posted by Anonymous | August 25, 2011 1:12 AM

You guys r busy nice pics too.

Posted by Jason | August 25, 2011 1:33 AM

a little bit of clown shit to scrape off my sneaks....

Posted by Anonymous | August 25, 2011 1:50 AM

@ 9:18 , Do you think initiating a sign in will stop posters who have a better taste in music than you do from posting how terrible this clown shit is? Look at the pics of the crowd. Take a look. Dorky fucking kids in American Apparel t-shirts and raybans psyched to see whatever the fuck the latest trender band is playing on the summer fest stage. This is clown shit. Some people have knowledge and taste and don't get excited about dorky trustfund dweebs playing some "pedestrian" (haha) clown shit. fuck you twice dipshit.

Maybe you should be more concerned with BV initiating a spellcheck instead, you know what I'm sqaying?
