Helmet at Irving Plaza (more by BBG)
Helmet

Page Hamilton's latest incarnation of Helmet have a few scattered dates that look like the makings of a burgeoning US tour in September-October. The shows include a stop at Riotfest Chicago, as well as an NYC date at Bowery Ballroom on October 11th with support TBA. Tickets go on AMEX presale at noon on Wed, 8/17 and regular sale two days later. More dates are listed below.

Helmet, who's last NYC date was playing all of Meantime at Irving Plaza with Saint Vitus, Crowbar, and many others as part of the Metalliance tour, will join a star-studded line-up at RiotFest Chicago, including "Danzig Legacy".

Danzig Legacy is also scheduled to play NYC at Hammerstein Ballroom on 10/29 as well as Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin. Tickets are on sale for both Fun Fun Fun and the Hammerstein show.

I totally want to hit the Bowery show, but I can't seem to find an electric razor that will sculpt my goatee perfectly as I like it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Shave it completely off. Serious.

"Unsung" is still awesome. "Meantime" and "Betty" albums still hold up. Other than that, I'll stick with Battles. Love this drummer!

Always down for some mo' Helmet!

Helmet. They should tour with Ozric Tentacles, Primus, and Urge Overkill.
You could call it "The Overrated 90's Tour"

"They should tour with Ozric Tentacles, Primus, and Urge Overkill.
You could call it "The Overrated Acts Your Parents Use To Pretend To Like Around Their Friends Tour"" "

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2011 8:45 PM

Who pretended to like Primus or Urge Overkill? Being a phony about what bands you genuinely like is totally indie fag behavior.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2011 8:51 PM

Sorry 8:51, I was giving you more credit than you deserved. I'm sorry. These were all great bands, and still are all these years later. You should definitely go and say something nice to Page. For all of us.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2011 9:09 PM

I'm glad you ask, 3:39. There's the BrAun cruZer Body model. I hear Danzig uses it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2011 10:14 PM

^ 8:51 was my first comment in the thread, idiot. And for the record, I don't give a fuck about any of the bands mentioned.

I just knew far too many indie rock fags in the 90's who claimed to like indie bands for the pathetic reason that they figured they were supposed to. Sonic Youth is a classic example of this. For every person I know who loved them, there were ten poseurs who couldn't name 5 of their songs but would freely rattle them off as being among their favorite bands. Nobody ever lied about liking Urge Overkill. There'd be no reason to.

Only Stanier is real.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2011 8:37 AM

YEAH! And we don't take kindly any bands r artists who ain't underground indie sonic youth steve albinowhatever or wavvvvvvves or suffiejan! Nunayou others buhlong in this hear town
