"The Decemberists were perfect. So great to have Jenny Conlee back on stage.. bald and beautiful from fighting cancer. One of her first shows" - CrystalAnne

The Decemberists

After taking some time off to fight cancer (she missed Bonnaroo, Newport and Prospect Park), a brave and beautiful Jenny Conlee returned to the stage at Stubb's last night, joining the Decemberists once again as they headlined the large Austin venue with Caitlin Rose as support. A set of pictures from the show, Decemberists setlist included, continues below..

Wish I could have gone...
but tix were over $50 @ Stubb's!
Just can't keep going to shows and supporting the 'scene' if it costs me this much to do so. Like I live in the Hamptons or something.

Great pics though Mr. Griffin, thx!

Jenny, you and your sister are beautiful! I was so happy to see them at a small venue (have only seen them at Bonnaroo twice). This show will go down as one of my favorites. Thanks for an awesome night!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2011 3:14 PM

The pictures are just outstanding! I am not a fan of the band as most of the posters here but still awe-inspiring!

Posted by Anthony | August 10, 2011 7:53 PM

Go with your bad self Jenny!! You rock!!

Posted by Robin | August 10, 2011 8:58 PM

Without losing sight of how great it is that Jenny is on the road to recovery, a light-hearted aside - did anyone else think she could pass for Franz Nicolay if she stuck on a handlebar stache?

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2011 10:11 PM

^ 10:11 PM Yes, this "Jenny" could pass.

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2011 10:22 PM

...for Franz Nicolay .

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2011 10:23 PM

dude, dont be a dick. go jenny!

Posted by Anonymous | August 11, 2011 12:01 AM

did the rest of the band shave their heads in solidarity? they're all sporting buzz cuts.

Posted by Anonymous | August 11, 2011 12:02 AM

Accordian playing bald chicks are HOT!! GO JENNY and CHRISTY!

Posted by Kelly B | August 11, 2011 8:37 AM

Jenny you are amazing!

Posted by JennaD | August 11, 2011 12:02 PM

Wow can't believe so many people dislike the band so much. Never thought that was possible (but they're my all-time favorite). Would've thought you could support Jenny without negativity tho.

Posted by Julia Sanders | August 12, 2011 12:21 AM

Yeah, seriously, if you're not a fan of the band, why bother to comment so negatively on this post? C'mon people, this is a real person battling cancer. Not really a classy time to post your lame musical judgements.

Posted by Sue | August 13, 2011 1:58 PM

(1) it's fun to torque off fanboy fembots over their sacred cows
(2) cancer does not give you a talent exemption
(3) it sucks she got cancer. lots of people have cancer, and yet there is no less drama in this world. and something tells me that you (1:58, et al) have probably had your part in bringing drama to someone who has been touched by cancer too.
(4) will Decemberists please go away now? please
