amazing show, as expected.

Mission of Burma can beat up 99% of these little pussy bands in 2011.

If you disagree, you've never seen a MOB show.

I was busy losing money up at Saratoga, sorry I missed it for sure!

encore 1:
1001 pleasant dreams
peking spring

encore 2:
the ballad of johnny burma
academy fight song

best encores i've ever seen by them

Bummed I missed them this time, but I can deal as long as they didn't play Nancy Reagan's Head.

Posted by Anonymous | August 11, 2011 3:43 PM

^ actually, they did. it was their third encore (in my head)

Unreal show. 9th time seeing MOB. New songs sounded great, sick encore, and was so pleasantly shocked to hear Dead Pool!

Burma = awesome, Beekman Beer Garden = lame.

So awesome! I hope Burma plays at Live Aid! I just got a new Rubik's Cube and hopefully I'll have it solved by then. Gotta go to the arcade - I've got Pac-Man fever!

MOB still rocks like no other, long live mission of burma.

Posted by Anonymous | August 11, 2011 4:42 PM

That would've been pretty awesome if Burma played Live Aid. They would've been like the only cool band on the lineup.

Oh, and Hall & Oates.

I wanted to go to this but I thought it would be way too crowded. When did folks show up, and were there still ok spots?

fucking incredible show. between this show and the one at maxwells last year rank at the top out of the 5 times i've had the pleasure of seeing them. i got there around 3 when doors opened and there were just a few people! by the time the opener came on, it was filling up nicely and when burma hit, it was packed. spots were good.

MoB always attracts a sizable tween following. Easy pickings for a man of my appetites!

i'm from boston, i'm old enough to know, and mob has been overrated for about 47 years.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2011 11:34 AM

^ You're right, they have been overrated! Ever since Sammy Gravano was incarcerated, they haven't gone back up since!

Fantastic as always. The crowd was great too and really egged them on last Sunday. Mission of Burma clearly appreciated the enthusiasm coming from normally jaded NY fans.

Prescot comment of the day: When America thinks "Summer Beach Party" they think "Mission of Burma."

I'm from Burma and these guys are NOT popular there at all!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2011 3:25 PM

my favorite moment was when burma pummelled the crowd with 19 career-spanning songs, and all of them were great

"I'm from Burma and these guys are NOT popular there at all!!!"

If they were called Mission AT Burma, they would be!
