despot is making music still?? since when??? i thought his whole shtick was: "hey, i'm fucking rad as hell but only wanna release three songs all my life and never make an actual cd."

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2011 10:31 PM

Despot is better then any of this

Breaking News: Das Racist, Weezer, Dave Matthews Band, Mumford and Sons are all MEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Frohawk > than all.

I rather sit at home watching cocktail eating hummus with pretzels than go to a Das Racist show.

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2011 11:23 PM

Das Racist would be more popular if they played Daft Punk's early music on a 1980s boombox on cassete than rap any of their own music.

do they sell t shirts that say "proud to be Das Racist?"

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2011 11:30 PM

i saw das racist at a clothing store last fall and it was a terrible show. i recently saw them again at pitchfork in chicago and they were fucking great. mike jackson is a pretty solid single. i kno yall love to judge before listenin/seein bands, but worth yr time for sure.

11:36, Do you have a mental issue? It seems to be that only a person with a mental issue would go to a Das Racist concert a second time, after admitting the first show was terrible. I think you need to be diagnosed by a doctor. Especially, because you called Mike Jackson "a great single". Song is fucking terrible. I rather have my taint branded than listen to the entirety of that song.

Most bands, when I say are terrible, usually have one or two redeeming qualities and/or songs that might make them enjoyable or a live show fun. Yes, even bands like U2 and Mumford & Sons.

Das Racist ain't one of those bands

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 12:29 AM

12:29, I fucking hate Bono. U2 absolutely fucking sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 12:39 AM

Yo dis sux. Are they supposed to be afro now?

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 12:57 AM

Don't care for the music, but DAMN that's the album cover of the year so far. I love the juxtaposition of the background, their expressions, and the title of the album. Now that's some good shit right there.

11:19: I'm not big on the Frohawk cliche however, I'd add Odd Future and Tyler, whatever to that collective you have there too. Sick of all those bands/artists.

i know they have some "good" songs but this song is srsly awful.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 9:54 AM

I think they're kinda fly

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 9:56 AM

this song is sweet

God they're awful. I have no clue why TVOTR had them as openers. Their music doesn't just suck they are annoying as people. I was thisclose to punching two of them in the mouth for being irritating at the Co flow show. Oh and dude on the left needs to change his shirt once in a while.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 10:46 AM

24-7 Spyz >>> TVOTR

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 11:04 AM

YAWN. Celebrate amateurism mediocrity. Congrats.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 11:22 AM

Also, that song with the Billy Joel "Moving Out" sample is a BLATANT rip of a Cam'ron/Juelz beat. Now, I understand that sampling ownership is a slippery slope, but based on their taste in rap, it seems like they deliberately crib from existing things that they think their fans would never recognize.

Since people who were listening to ACTUAL RAP MUSIC over the last decade would want nothing to do with this horseshit, they can subtly imply they're doing something unique. These guys are a walking musical holocaust.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 11:26 AM

11:26, that's why it was a mixtape. It wasn't a rip of the beat, it was the actual beat. It's like this thing that people do in hip-hop. You wouldn't understand.

Das Racist is one of the best things to happen to ACTUAL RAP MUSIC.

Posted by youractualmom | August 3, 2011 11:38 AM

1126, not only are you a moron, but you listen to cam'ron

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 11:46 AM

Cex did this better 10 years ago.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 2:36 PM

I like the 2 mixtapes - but think this single is shit. ah well still looking forward to the album.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2011 2:45 PM

Man, I'm still waiting on Despot to release an album! @10:31 If you look hard enough, you can separately find nine tracks. Eight of which were supposed to be an album collectively, but it never happened. Despot would be the only reason for getting this.
