Punch

The Punch / Loma Prieta tour rolls into town TONIGHT (8/18), teaming with Grudges and Nailed Shut at The Acheron. $7 gets you in the door. The tour stopped on Sunday (8/14) for a show at The Strangelight in Chicago with Ten Thousand Leagues and Get Rad. Pictures from that show adorn this post. Punch's new Nothing Lasts EP is out now via Deathwish and 625 Thrash.

NYC's Grudges also recently played Stolen Sleeves on August 5th with Baltimore's Oak, the night before Oak played Saint Vitus with Disma, Coffinworm, and Unearthly Trance. Pictures from Stolen Sleeves are also below.

Grudges will also play Acheron on 8/28 with DBCR, Defeatist and Victims, as part of the latter's US tour that kicked off with a show supporting Ringworm.

All Punch/Loma Prieta dates, and pictures from Strangelight and Stolen Sleeves are below.

The only band worth anything here is Oak. The rest are a bunch of hipster posers. Real punk rock my ass.

12:37: Pretty evident on most of the comments on the metal/hardcore articles, eh?

Posted by Anonymous | August 18, 2011 1:57 PM

how are some bands playing a basement in front of 20 people newsworthy? Doesn't this happen hundreds of times every night across the country?

Posted by Anonymous | August 18, 2011 2:20 PM

2:20, maybe its because they are good bands. Every band starts somewhere.

Commercial success is clearly the only barometer for relevance.

Posted by Anonymous | August 18, 2011 3:21 PM

Heineken sponsorship is clearly the only barometer for relevance. The rest is clown shit.

@12:41- Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Grudges the band with Kevin Bacon's son? If so, wouldn't that make them silver spoon punk rock and not "real punk"? Just asking...

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2011 5:39 AM

@ 5:39 God your a fucking retard. So I suppose EVERY band that YOU consider "real punk" is all filled with members from broken homes and impoverished upbringings? Clearly you have a definitive idea of what kind of family background every member came from. The fact of the matter is most punk bands are filled with White Sis-Gendered males anyway so if anything punks are generally some of the most privileged people to begin with. Walker form Crazy Spirit lives with his parents in a loft in Tribeca. But you'd never know because you know, CxS is REAL PUNK!
