Rock Yard

Just one day after all the commotion related to whether "Rock Beach" was a success, Jelly slightly redesigned their rockbeach.us website to remove mention of their sponsor Top Man (they taped over their name) and announce that they're bringing back a more conveniently located "Rock Yard", but not in the same location it was last year since that location is now a restaurant. That's their flyer above.

The Death Set is awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 5:58 PM

these are their go to bands. If it wasn't for Jelly, none of these bands like Cerebral Ballzy would get shows.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 6:04 PM

Team Robespierre wasn't available?

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 6:04 PM

Hating music is cooler than liking music.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 6:05 PM

Spank Rock would probably be on this if he wasn't touring with Keisha

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 6:05 PM

^ Lame.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 6:07 PM

So So Glos are a good band.

I actually wished the show was still at Aviator. More room, decent bar. SSG were the only band I cared about from the lineup.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 6:08 PM

Did that Goldstein schmuck get fired?

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 9:20 PM

Jelly might be worse than Vans or Quicksilver. At least they haven't put into writing exactly how big of dickheads they are.

Yo Jelly dude, you mouthed off like a straight prick, and now you're done...

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2011 11:21 PM

I swear to god there is not one person on earth who likes cerebral ballzy

on top of being a shitty band, and I mean REAL shitty, they have egos like they're the fucking rolling stones or something

they've been hacking away at it for 5 years or so now, not getting anywhere

BV sells out our culture for corporate advertising $

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 12:17 AM

12:17 - Why blame BV? Why not blame the bands playing those crap corporate shilling shows? BV just lists concerts - DIY, corporate, free, pay whatever.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 1:06 AM

Why blame either? It's the way the modern world works outside of your douchey little make-believe bubble (and even in it). Cuba's nice. Look into it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 1:19 AM

1:19 AM You are completely wrong and dont realize theres many bands that are DIY and dont operate that way. Maybe your confused because so many bands today have to ideals, concern, or insight other than themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 2:23 AM

for all of you whining about corporate money, take a look at what has become an extremely desperate situation within the music industry.

i think some of these comments are ridiculous. you all complain about jelly not booking enough big acts, and then you all complain about things getting too corporate. you can't have both worlds. stop worrying about the goddam image and take a minute and enjoy yourselves. the music industry is going to shit and all you do is complain about these shows.

bv has truly become a bunch of elitist pricks who don't appreciate the opportunities that are right in front of you. and no i'm not a goddamn jelly intern. you are privileged anough to live in new york, so quit your complaining and go see some obscure band if that's your thing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 2:26 AM

either way, it's just bad pop music. not like we're talking about art. not like we're talking about a scene.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 7:15 AM

saw Cerebral Ballzy standing around at house of vans last friday, looked like a total poser with his friends. you're trying too hard Bro with the metal skater blipster thing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 7:43 AM

their website is very troubling.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 10:10 AM

People care about this?

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 10:49 AM

Jelly gave us some great years of music at The Pool. Let us not forget.
Meanwhile, please skip The Growlers.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 11:07 AM

but what does Ryan Seacrest think about all of this?

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 11:48 AM

JELLY WILL HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 12:32 PM

I want to go to this but my wife and kid won't let me leave loser-ville for it.

:(

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 1:06 PM

^ Bro, you need to get on this. I'm sure your kid's Little League team can find another coach in Podunk to cover for you. I mean, you already missed Death Grips, bro. I'm sure we'll all be talking about The Growlers 6 months from now...

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 1:30 PM

I'm the mayor of Podunk and I take offense to all this.

Posted by Ralph Roberts | August 4, 2011 1:39 PM

the growlers are great

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 1:41 PM

Looks like they are bringing it to the wife/kid combos in Loserville after all:

man I miss Meneguar

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 3:50 PM

Jelly was in the right place at the right time to receive a corporate handout (from LiveNation, no less) of use of the McCarren Park Pool.

Location location location was the only valuable thing Jelly ever had. They couldn't organize their shows for shit, the logistics were always a nightmare and they never had their lineups together in time to advertise even the basics.

Location trumped all of that at the pool and at the waterfront. Take away the location, and the emperor has no clothes

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 4:26 PM

metal skater blipster rich kid, actually

dude is a huge fucking poser from the burbs, pretending to be "street"

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 5:46 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2011 7:21 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2011 12:57 PM

^^^^^^ hahahahahaha!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2011 4:07 PM

wild yaks were the best band that they had this summer. they play with the other best band (growlers) at brooklyn tonight bowl so shut the fuck up and go see them both. say what you want about the bands or the people throwing shows, but at least they are in the game. you guys are just fans and fans just stand and watch and sometimes anonymously talk shit. go do something

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2011 4:25 PM

wow, to be able to gather this lineup together, you'd have to.... ASK THESE PEOPLE TO PLAY
