American blues legend Taj Mahal played a free show at World Financial Center Plaza Thursday night (7/28) with Amy LaVere and Mike Farris. Taj Mahal played with his group, the Taj Mahal trio, as part of the Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival. Pictures are on this post.
The Taj Mahal Trio has more North American dates scheduled for the next few months including a show at Brooklyn Bowl on September 20. Tickets are on sale now. All tour dates and more pictures from the WFC show below...

lol! i love taj mahal and i bet he was awesome but i thought this guy/girl? http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/music/tajmahal/worldfinancialcenter/23.jpg was a michael jackson impersonator!

Mike Farris and the Roseland Rhythm Revue, who opened the show, were incredible.
Soulful, southern gospel, rock and roll-really great.
I had seen the Screamin Cheetah Willies years ago but was unprepared for the incendiary soulful set from Mike Farris.
Amy Laverre was quirky and good-even though you could barely call the music blues.
Taj was great, as usual
