Brandt Brauer Frick

German techno trio Brandt Brauer Frick, comprised of the jazz-leaning Daniel Brandt and Jan Brauer and the classically trained Paul Frick, will bring their experimental sounds to the US for a few dates this fall. The trio layers loops of mainly acoustic instruments to create minimal soundscapes somewhat similarly to the proto-techno composers of the 1970s and early '80s. While they're in the US, they'll play Moogfest, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and a NYC show at Glasslands on October 27. Tickets for the Glasslands show are on sale now (no other bands on the bill at the moment). They played Coachella in April. All future dates are listed below.

Some videos and a 90 minute mix they made, also below...

wow what bad aesthetic choices!

Silly me. I clicked on the comments to see if anyone had information about how this group sounds. I should have known that the comments would be nothing more than juvenile snark.

I wonder if BV is humiliated by his fan base.

Silly me. I clicked on the comments to see if anyone had information about how this group sounds, and because I'm too stupid to click on embedded youtube videos, I proceeded with my quest to see what anonymous commenters knew about their music.

11:31, Look in my LPs they released one album in the late seventies. Their music is a sort of--ugh--techno-pop.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2011 11:51 AM

excited for this. they are great live.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2011 12:08 PM

No fair Dan's equally stupid co-worker! I cannot access YouTube videos at work. All streaming media is blocked.
