Is mission of Burma playing underneath the pavilion at beekman beer garden?
Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2011 10:13 AM
how big is the beekman beer garden? according to the web site doors are at noon but Mission of Burma is not playing until 5 p.m. if i show up at 4 do i have any chance of getting in?
Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2011 10:34 AM
Mission of Burma is free, rain or shine, show will be under tent. The labor Pool goes on at 4pm, Mission of Burma at 5pm. I'd get there early, maybe not noon but 2-3.

Makes one get conspiratorial, if ya know what I mean.

Warning: Beakman Beer Garden isn't a very cool venue. The food is over-priced and below mediocre, do not eat there. The drinks are pricey and there is a large crowd of people there who didn't come for the music.

^to add to what 1:56 said, last week the beer, while they had some decent ones on tap, was flat and/or skunked. I'd advise drinking somewhere else before you come to the BBG.

if you missed Burma today because you thought it was either too hot (it was) or it rained (it didn't), you fucked up. out of the 5 times i've seen them so far, this was the best. crowd refused to leave after the encore so they came out for a 2nd encore. so so good.

Burma was great. Beekman Beer Garden sucks. Would not go back there.
Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2011 11:09 PM
mission of burma were fantastic but i agree, never going back to beekman beer garden unless fugazi is going to hold their reunion show there.

mission of burma RULED

What exactly was bad about Beekman Beer Garden?
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2011 10:07 AM
@10:07
For a beer garden, they don't know how to properly store or serve their beer.
It didn't matter which of the bars in the garden you went to. They were all serving stale, flat, skunky beer. And charging $7 to do so. Which $7 really isn't out of the norm, but still it'd be nice if the beer wasn't rancid for that money.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2011 10:14 AM
So it was just the beer? What if you don't drink then?
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2011 10:39 AM
sXe

Mission of Burma rules, but that show was a disaster. They should never have bands at that venue. Epic Disaster.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2011 12:58 PM
what was such a disaster? it was hot yes, and i guess some people didn't dig the beer (i was drinking the Witte all day and it tasted fine to me), but disaster implies all sorts of things went wrong, which they didn't. explain yourself baww
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2011 1:16 PM
who cares
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2011 2:40 PM
Yes, exactly my point, 1:16. It wasn't a disaster at all, far from it. It's just that hipsters like to hate on things to make themselves feel above it all. It's not meant to be taken seriously. Just ignore it.
