I think whoever booked black dice at ps1 is the same person who booked gang gang dance at the mad decent block party...

I've heard that after years of practice in the art of fellatio, frohawk can suck hummus through a straw and then blow it back out and make bubbles with it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2011 4:19 PM

There's a line of big hair girls all the way down the block to 16th Street waiting to get in to the Hadley show.
Nah, just kidding.
Is this is a joke booking or what.
Who's opening, Kajagoogoo?

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2011 4:40 PM

I just ate a whole thing of hummus and half bag of pita chips. I feel like complete fucking shit now.

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2011 5:29 PM

^ I too just ate a whole thing of hummus. But because I enjoyed baby carrots as my chick pea sidekick, I'm feeling fresh and ready to face the second half of the day!

His Name Is Alive might have had its moments but Warren Defever is no P.S.1 closing DJ. Why?

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2011 11:01 PM

Death by hummus fart is a bad way to go

Agree with the first poster and 1101.

I'd like a report on PS1 myself. It can be a very fun scene with a wildly disparate crowd, but sometimes the curators with their boutique tastes try to educate the masses. Black Dice? The guy from His Name Is Alive closing as a DJ? The crowd is there to dance and hopefully score some phone numbers. Book real DJs to close who know how to play for a mixed crowd. It doesn't have to be some mindless crap either. Omar-S is a well respected name in techno/house circles and he was great last week.

But maybe Black Dice and the HNIA DJ "killed it?"

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2011 3:50 PM

^I can'help but be a smartass with such a question. Uhm...I think it's a pretty safe bet that all indoor shows will proceed genius.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2011 5:24 PM

I went to the Warm Up. It was cool considering it was the warm up... for Jimmy Chance!
