Like they did in 2010, The Rapture played a secret show at Union Pool last week. We only heard after it happened. Tonight they play a sold out show at MHOW which is followed by an afterparty at Cameo. Their next NYC show is at Webster Hall.

Over 30 food trucks are parked at South Street Seaport today for "Parked" Fest. More importantly, there will be free music by Anais Mitchell, Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens, Two Man Gentleman Band, Soul 2 Seoul, and Mikey Palms (can't find set times, but the fest goes till 9pm). Flyer below.

What else?

It degrades your publication

isn't that Shane from Weeds?

Quick P.S.1 report.

Missed Pictureplane. Kinda bummed. Anyone catch him?

Blood Orange - Sound was awful. Pretty forgetable lo-fi R&B. Only highlight was the Jimi Hendrix style guitar solo on the last song.

Solange - We get're hot and Beyonce's sister. But are no DJ.

Juan Maclean - Never gonna hate on this guy. He knows his shit. But in the last half hour (the most important time of the party), he let the energy slip by playing slower tempo disco. Why?

Did Grimes ever show up?

Basically, they've got to stop trying to be so "heady" and steer the ship back towards quality dance music. Does anyone remember the days when Richie Hawtin, Matthew Dear or Carl Craig was closing that party. Now that's how you do it.

since you missed Pictureplane it's clear you also missed Grimes, who played before him/her

^And since you mention nothing about the music, it's equally clear that I didn't miss much.
