Speaking of Eleanor Friedberger, did anyone see Michelle Trachtenberg on Weeds last night? Kind of an Olson twins thing going on there, no?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 12:59 PM

Eleanor Friedberger looks like a lesbian

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 1:07 PM

Deerhunter went on at 1030 last night???

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 1:18 PM

^ yep.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 1:35 PM

Deerhunter was amazing last night. I can't remember the last time I was so blown away by a show.

Posted by Dan | August 23, 2011 1:51 PM

Earthquake today! 5.8!

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:00 PM

The earthquake was caused by Frohawk's booty hitting the floor of Brooklyn Bowl

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:04 PM

Im on the 4th floor brownstone.. and im vibrating and im like wtf am I evolving into a super sayain.. look out window building is vibrating ... lol wtf..

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:08 PM

What were set times for Eleanor and Deerhunter last night?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:10 PM

210
9pm eleanor snooze
1030 deerhunter rock

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:19 PM

were there people selling deerhunter tixs @ the door last night?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:20 PM

I'm guessing Deerhunter will open with "Earthquake" tonight?

*rim shot*

....no, seriously. they didn't play it last night.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:20 PM

Eleanor has a song called Early Earthquake. She better play it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:23 PM

LOL WTF? Why do I type like I'm a low-IQ teenager?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:25 PM

Yeah that was freaky...the earthquake!

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:26 PM

So I was sitting there with my trust fund blow and my mirror on my bed, and that earthquake caused the razor blade to slide off and it sliced my dick! Ouch!

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:34 PM

does anyone have the deerhunter setlist from last night?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 2:43 PM

i don't have the setlist but they played these songs in approximately this order:

basement scene
desire lines
hazel st.
don't cry
revival
little kids
cover me (slowly)
agoraphobia
memory boy
nothing ever happened
spring hall convert
(unknown cover)

encore:
helicopter
he would have laughed

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 3:14 PM

Deerhunter hand-picked Eleanor so stop the hating on her. New album is good; gotta give her credit for going it on her own and succeeding with some really fine songs..

Posted by donn | August 23, 2011 3:24 PM

Thanks for the setlist. I thought they closed the main set with Spring Hall Convert.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 3:27 PM

^ they might have. i was pretty entranced the entire time to be honest. best show i've seen by them. they've gotten really amazing live.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 3:28 PM

Totally agree. It was mind-blowing once again.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 3:48 PM

Eleanor's album is really good, but her band presentation needs some work. Not nearly as good as live Fiery Furnaces.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 4:09 PM

Speaking of Eleanor in the first person => your still not gonna get any so save it, mmmmkay?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 4:17 PM

I agree her album is great, wasn't too impressed with her last night. "Roosevelt Island" is one of the better songs off the record, and she played a slower, boring version of it. what gives?

Saving grace was ending with "I Won't Fall Apart On You Tonight" otherwise I would've been really dissapointed.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 4:21 PM

so far, one of the best shows i've seen this year and would have gone again tonight if i knew how great it was gonna be - i love how they thread one song into another and the encore was amazing

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 4:24 PM

agreed... when they went into "don't cry" i came to the conclusion that it was the best show so far this year. they just sounded so... good.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 4:31 PM

^^ all the same guy
you can stop sucking yourself off now

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 4:36 PM

ramadan a ping pong

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 4:58 PM

4:36pm -sorry to disappoint you but the post at 4:24pm is mine only - you have no clue! and i ain't no 'guy' either

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 5:07 PM

@4:17 figure out what the first-person is before you accuse people of using it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 5:11 PM

^^ makes no sense. But it's OK, school is almost in again, and maybe you'll cover syntax and logic this year. Yeah!

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 5:59 PM

5:59 I think that 5:11 is saying that the first person would be referring to Eleanor Friedberger as "I" or "me" as opposed to the second person which would refer to her as "Eleanor" (or a better way to differentiate there would be to call it "false familiarity")

Having said that, I understood what 4:17 was driving at, and I tend to agree with him/her. And, I didn't need to be a prick about it either ;)

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2011 6:20 PM

Colin played on the first three tonight, unreal!

Flourescent Grey
Cyrptograms
Octet
Earthquake
Dont Cry
Revival
Never Stops
Nothing Happens
Twilight at Carbon Lake
--
Desire Lines
Cavalry Scars II (!!!)

The HD stuff was a bit flat, they seemed bored-ish, but the older stuff was amazing. The opening 25 minutes felt like seeing them in the summer of '07 again...

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 12:44 AM

Some adjustments:

Flourescent Grey
Cyrptograms
Octet
Lake Somerset
Earthquake
Dont Cry
Revival
Never Stops
Nothing Happens (+Horses)
Twilight at Carbon Lake
--
Desire Lines
Cryptograms Intro?
Cavalry Scars II (!!!)

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 2:12 AM

wow... wish I had seen them on the 2nd night. first night was all songs i'd seen them play already.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 8:47 AM

Bradford did say they would be playing alot more songs the second night - wish i had tix for both but i'm glad i was there Monday night

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:00 AM

he said that but I DIDN'T BELIEVE HIM

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:09 AM

lesson learned and especially the same with Radiohead - get tickets for both nights if they play back to back cause you never know what you're gonna get

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:21 AM

best live band right now. seems like even us bv commenting assholes are united in this opinion.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:22 AM

they have gotten quite phenomenal in the past year.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:23 AM

I think I missed Octet some how... was it just a snippet? Lake Somerset was amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:45 AM

9:22 I wouldn't go that far. You posters in this thread are having a collective circle jerk, but for most of the rest of us (the other 99% of BV readers) it doesn't even measure on the Give-A-Fuck meter. I personally think that Deerhunter is supremely overrated, and only joined the posting here to report that fact (which I would bet cash money is shared by many others, silent as they are).

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 9:52 AM

in order to bet "cash money" you have to have a job. signing over checks from mommy is kind of a hassle.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 10:01 AM

Hey 10:01, I am happily employed, thank you very much, and guarantee that I make twice what you do. And now, I silently dismiss your trolling comment.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 10:26 AM

9:22am - and why did you feel it was important to speak for the "most of the rest of us (the other 99% of BV readers)"?? why does it bother you that people actually enjoyed the show or any other show - always amuses me the minute a few express a positive opinion on music they enjoy, BV's like you need to knock them down - chill out already!

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 10:41 AM

You need to calm the fuck down and use your mind instead of your emotions, 10:41. I was responding to 9:22, which made an inaccurate declarative statement.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 10:47 AM

lol looks like someone missed snack time lol

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 10:48 AM

i can't decide if people on here are trying to be contentious or are just plain stupid. can any of you on here help me out?

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 11:02 AM

^ f u, asshole. where are you right now?

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 11:07 AM

i'd say right about now i'm all up in your mind, rent free :) lol

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 11:41 AM

10:41 and all the other comments you made jerking off on Deerhunter. Who the fuck do you think YOU ARE? Seriously this is a comment section. Good and Bad. If you and a few other idiots are gonna make such stupid statements about Deerhunter being the best live band out there then people have a right to say different. Even more so when you declare that all of BV feels the same as you. If you don't like then stay on the Deerhunter message board.

I have seen Deerhunter many many times and I like them a lot. I went to the show last night(even had free tickets so no axe to grind either way). It was good but nothing mind blowing and certainly not one of the best concerts of the year. I would say that you and a few others making those grandiose comments are clueless.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 11:48 AM

Atlas Sound >>>>>>>>>> Deerhunter

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 12:02 PM

deerhunter are unreal live.
so so so good.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 12:19 PM

11:48am - as you stated, this is a comment section - so all i'm saying is treat all comments as that and not some excuse for them to be ridiculed with snarky comments of your own - agree or disagree - no reason to get all worked up about it - life's too short

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2011 12:21 PM

i love deerhunter. sorry if that's offensive!
