WITTR at NYU (more by Meghan McInnis)
Wolves In The Throne Room

As I said in July, "Thou's appearance at The Bell House comes as a bit of a surprise, considering the band's staunch stance at playing only all ages establishments." At the time Wolves in The Throne Room and Thou's only NYC show was scheduled to take place on 9/12 at the 21+ The Bell House. Well, now comes word that the pair have added a second show happening on 9/14 at the always all-ages Death By Audio!

No advance tickets for Death By Audio, but tickets for The Bell House are still on sale. Updated WITTR dates are below.

I don't understand this band's name. Seriously not trolling, I just don't get it.

^ Considering other bands names seen around these parts, WITTR is not that bad (in fact I kinda like it anyway).

Also, I just realized that their subject material is kinda on the eco-friendly side. Interesting.

Wasn't saying their name is bad, I was just curious about the origin of meaning. Def like their stuff and looking forward to seeing them on this tour.

their name is very black metal-y

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2011 4:27 PM

4:21 Yeah, I hear ya on that. Couldn't find anything on the origin, but they did have a s/t song called "Wolves In The Throne Room", shortly after they formed.

Hearing an ad for the natural gas lobby on NPR prior to one of their tracks came as a sickening surprise given the eco-friendliness they are known for. Those stupid ads are probably generated randomly and they probably had no knowledge of it but it still made me cringe.

What about the name do you not get? If there are wolves in the throne room the king is going to die.
