Beirut @ Terminal 5 (photo by Ryankelly)
Beirut

How was the show last night? Dance Yrself Clean says,

"Plain and simple seeing Beirut live is an experience I just wish never had to end. Zach Condon is quite possibly the most adorable man on the planet. I couldn't resist being a filming whore and videotaping Vagabond which next to Santa Fe is my jam on The Rip Tide. Seeing Beirut live just upped my Zach Condon crush to new levels. True story."
Check out that Vagabond video below...

Spin Doctors are reuniting and playing their smash hit album Pocketful of Kryptonite in its entirety on 10/23. True story.

This music is so weak. Please review some real rock n' roll like Spin Doctors. They bring the jams.

12:59 when is the operation scheduled for? do the other kids make fun of you at school for wearing women's clothes? i know i would.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 1:14 PM

so when did they go on?

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 1:23 PM

Just get a Spin Doctors shirt instead. It's timeless.

They went on at a little after 9P and played an amazing set. If you have tix tonight, you will certainly enjoy it. No jams here, just the songs beautifully performed with tight horn arrangements. I had never seen them before and was pleasantly surprised at how good Condon's voice sounds live (it's a bit of an acquired taste on their recordings). I'm not a T5 fan because their PA system is awful, but the sound was crystal clear. It would be unfair to compare this performance to anything done by the Spin Doctors, who we all by now agree belong in a class of their own.

Totally agree, Spin Doctors are leagues above Beirut and any & all other bands. Nice review, though it needs a little more Spin Doctors.

"and WILL again tonight". Schools are failing our kids.

Members of Beirut will definitely be at the Spin Doctors show at Brooklyn Bowl. Beirut might even all sit in on a Spin Doctors song together during the encore.

Everyone (only one?) posting Spin Doctors stuff all over: come on, guys, show a little restraint. It was funny, but you're flogging the fossilized bones of yesterday's dead horse at this point.
Let's move on.

There is no restraint in the Spin Doctors NATION. We are very passionate about our favorite band: Spin Doctors!!! We tried showing restraint once over a decade ago and that led to the economic collapse.

LOVED last night

Posted by Sophie | September 22, 2011 4:08 PM

You wouldn't go to a concert because there are people there who like the band? That makes sense.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 4:09 PM

Thanks yourself for a good time, Sophie. You damn near wore me out, girl! Hit my cell if you want to do some more boning tonight.

Laetitia Sadier went on at 8 Beirut went on at 9:15. The show was good but it's hard to compare a venue like T5 to seeing them at Coco 66 or MHOW where they were f'in awesome. I was on the 2nd level in the back and the sound was decent although not loud enough. I think if I went again, I'd try to make sure I was on the ground level up front.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 5:38 PM

their second show was decent, but goddamnit condon can you ever sing a lyric in time? i could see the frustration of your back up singer as you got to each line late

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2011 1:20 PM

Exactly how and when did Zach Condon became a heartthrob whose gigs get overrun by clueless teenybopper-minded girls? Real women go to other shows.
