Still don't know who Chavez is, but they better learn the language.

Wish this wasn't on BV. Cue the clusterfuck.

Clueless NY transplant:

'Oooof couldn' get Radiohead tickets even tho I offered up my wife in trade. Got ta see Sha-Vez tho. Oh, you don't know them? LEGENDARY Matador band that no one had heard of before the inner-nets. Matt Sweeney and all that. He was in ZWAN.'

I wouldn't worry too much, it wasn't at all difficult to get into that Parkside Lounge show they played last year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 6:30 PM

Prime example why I love this band. $6 = one beer to see a band I've wanted to see for 17 years. Hope it's not difficult to get in.

Harlequins & Kings playing Lit Lounge on Saturady Oct 1st.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 1:25 PM

I'm all blasted open.

chavez are 98% as good as they were in the 90s and still better than almost anything going on since. 1 small disappointment: james lo can no longer play "repeat the ending" (one of my great live show memories of era past - he was machine-like) so they really shouldnt encore with it. but still fucking phenomenal band.

updating the previous post:
the james lo has been practicing. motherfucker nailed it last night at bowery.
