Guided by Voices @ their last (as in most recent) show (more by Alex Broadwell)
GBV

As our recent cynical headline implied, I didn't really think Guided by Voices was done yet, though I will say I didn't think such a big announcement was coming just two days later! Mojo reports:

Guided By Voices classic '90s line-up will release an album of new material in January 2012.

The cult, low-fi heroes - Robert Pollard, Tobin Sprout, Greg Demos, Mitch Mitchell and Kevin Fennell - have returned to the studio to record Let's Go Eat The Factory. It will be this line-up's first new LP since 1996's fan favourite Under The Bushes, Under The Stars. The band have just completed a year-long reunion tour.

Let's Go Eat The Factory will be released on January 1, 2012.

I heard Chris Barron was guided by voices from above when he wrote the smash hit Two Princes while he was homeless and sleeping in his car in Bushwick

homeboy heard how much heat Spin Doctors were pulling from their PFOK shows and wanted to try and do the same thing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 4:08 PM

Ya, but little does that guy know, when you are playing with that much heat, somebodys gonna get burned. and the only doctor that has the cure is the Spin Doctors

CALLED IT!

This Spin Doctors meme here is an all time low point

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 4:18 PM

GBV got all the attention bands like v-3 and ego summit deserved

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 4:22 PM

While I'm not expecting this new material to be amazing, I am looking forward to hearing what it sounds like.

On another note...this Spin Doctors meme is beyond overdone! So poorly executed and ZERO style points. When I started DUNKACCINO, I brought it up here and there, let it rest, and then repeated on occasion. You are a classless, hopelesss, pathetic moron. Ps - Nobody is laughing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 4:33 PM

4:39 is right. If ever there is a band that doesn't sound the same, song by song, this is it.

It is completely unsurprising that there's nearly complete overlap between:

People with shitty enough taste not to like GBV

and

People with shitty enough taste to consistently over-do a new BV meme

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 5:09 PM

Spin Doctors are the cancer killing /bv/

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 5:12 PM

He's still cooler than 99.99999% of you retards.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 5:49 PM

21 tracks? You know its gonna be about 7 good tracks and 14 shit ones that should've been b-sides. Have you seriously learned nothing in the past 30 years, robert pollard?

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 5:56 PM

Hey I missed when the Spin Doctors meme started. Can someone recap so I can get in on this? Seems fun!

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2011 6:04 PM

this is serious stuff, and i would appreciate it if commenters took this seriously. i was a victim of the nitrous when some dude shoved a balloon in my face, which resulted in a really bad allergic reaction. i passed out, and next thing i remember was waking up at a lana del ray with equally confused concert-goers. it was one of the worst nights of my life.

Yes!! Thank you, thank you!

I apologize if this question has already been asked, but what're everyone's favorite Spin Doctors-related memories? Anyone feel free to chime in here.

Posted by Anonymous | September 23, 2011 5:56 AM

The best memory was on the Sarah Silverman show when Brian the metalhead was jamming out to the spin doctors.
