I like these guys output from the 80s, but does anyone know if any of their recent material is as good?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:27 PM

That guy has VERY fancy hair.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:28 PM

why are they playing amphitheaters in november?

..they are playing indoor amphitheaters , otherwise known as arenas

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:28 PM

eagles of death metal should open for them again...

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:33 PM

They should just jack Dave Navarro, give the band enough smack to not care, and be done with it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:35 PM

2:27 - New material is spotty. Much of the stuff on Chinese Democracy sounds like stuff that would have been played on K-ROCK in 1997. Don't let this stop you from seeing them live, though. I've never seen a bad GNR show.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:35 PM

GNR still kills it. We all know it, it just seem ripe for making fun of. I'll be there

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:35 PM

Camden, NJ has a venue?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:38 PM

I saw the Stones at Foxboro in autumn one of those 90s tours they did. It was so cold by the end of the show, it really ceased being fun.

And that was the Stones. Imagine what kinda fifth circle of hell action this clusterfuck will be, in November at the Izod Center.

I love how BV puts "Guns N' Roses" in quotes. I bet when he speaks of this lineup of Guns N' Roses to his friends, he does the finger quote thing. And possibly says "quote/unquote" before he says "Guns N' Roses".

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:40 PM

BV has no friends, just a bunch of people trying to get free tix.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:44 PM

2:40 who is "he"

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:45 PM

"GNR still kills it. We all know it, it just seem ripe for making fun of. I'll be there"

Oh please shut the fuck up you giant moron. They most certainly do not kill it anymore. A joke of a band at this point.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:46 PM

i like chinese democracy.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:49 PM

2:45: Nah, they actually do still kill it. Axl and his band of professional faceless musicians sound great. I wanted to doubt it, but I've seen them a few times since 2002, and they were great every time.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:50 PM

Should have teamed with Radiohead for Totally
Irrelevant Snooze Fest 2011.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:51 PM

GUNS!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:51 PM

When will Mr. Brownstone play again?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:53 PM

your dj ain't no dj.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:54 PM

@2:46 I typed my comment about them still killing it, so it is weird to tell me to shut up. Oh and I just checked again, just to be sure, and they do kill it. It's on wikipedia. Not under "Guns and Roses" but under "Who Is Killing it (Fall 2011)"

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:54 PM

2:50
I too have seen a bunch of those shows starting with the first set of new shows at Hammerstein a number of years ago. They were ok. Nothing compared to original Guns shows which were amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:55 PM

I can still listen to Appetite back to back and love every tune.... But for all intents, Guns and Roses has been dead for a looooong time now. This is Axl Rose solo. And he can barely even sing anymore.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:55 PM

@ 2:50...seen em a few times? thats dedication! so is it worth the ticket price? they go through all the hits? no new stuff?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:55 PM

i did an interview with axl rose in 1990 and he farted

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:56 PM

hating on radiohead in a gnr thread - you do need help don't you?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:56 PM

2:51 You should be a promoter. I would seriously go to see any lineup called "Totally irrelevant Snoozefest 2011" even if It meant having to listen to radiohead.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:57 PM

I saw him at varvatos... He may be all "LA Gay" and Botox'd out now, but he is still Axl Rose, and that means he is still cooler then pretty much 99% of anybody.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 2:58 PM

I guess he has to start paying back that $13 million that he owes Geffen for all the studio time he squandered over the years while trying to record Chinese Democracy.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:02 PM

2:56 (farted comment), I think I like Axl more now.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:04 PM

yup

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:05 PM

ok

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:05 PM

"I typed my comment about them still killing it, so it is weird to tell me to shut up"

Really? That is the comeback you chose? The "how can i be talking when im actually typing" one. Wow, I think that was the usual retort when blogging first started. Oh but I guess if you still think Guns and Roses are killing it or even still relevant then i guess that comeback makes total sense.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:11 PM

Hired Guns N' Rose
Guns 'n Ringers
Appetite for Cancellation
The Bill Bailey Band

Posted by Saul H. | September 29, 2011 3:17 PM

@3:11 That really is the comeback that I chose. That's why it appeared here in the comments section. If it was one of the ones I didn't go with it would still be here on my note pad crossed out. Hey I just noticed your comment time it another band that is still fucking killing it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:21 PM

Appetite For Failure

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:29 PM

Didn't that guy play in one of the Guitar Hero bands?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:32 PM

Let's be real. Even classic Guns n Roses were terrible. I can't even listen to Appetite for Destruction because Axl's voice is grating. Music for 13 year olds first getting into rock music, and 50 year old guys trying to relive the past.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:35 PM

as someone who only listens to bands whose guitarists wear lots of makeup, i am fucking PUMPED about this announcement.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:39 PM

look at that douche!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:41 PM

2:50/2:54/3:21 will never allow the Internet to beat him. No matter how much of a stupid idiot with shitty taste he is.

Rock on with your bad taste self!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:42 PM

Ah, internet arguments.

Does anyone really ever win?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 3:49 PM

I won an internet argument once. What, I did!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 4:31 PM

HILARIOUS that you can still pull GA standing tickets for this shit concert

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 4:48 PM

<=3

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 4:54 PM

is this like seeing the smashing pumpkins?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 5:02 PM

so....will there be FEMA help for the impacted areas? or at least a pamphlet explaining how this music sucks, sucked and will continue to suck?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 7:09 PM

looks like a Biscuit Head to me.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 7:20 PM

Does anyone this will be good? ANYONE?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 7:32 PM

Is Biscuit Head still in the band?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 7:32 PM

Guns and Roses is the cat's vagina.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2011 7:32 PM

C'mon, you hooligans all know you want to go to this!

Posted by Anonymous | October 2, 2011 1:06 PM

Are there any of the original members still in the band? Would like to the see the Welcome to the Jungle line up back together if they could get along.

Posted by Steve | October 5, 2011 2:29 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 17, 2011 10:33 AM
