1. Universal Motown is closing? Isn't that big news (as in, the death of music as an industry)?
2. THESE guys were on Motown?
3. THESE guys are still together?

I actually like to listen to the Kaiser Chiefs occasionally, but the bigger story is Motown closing?? When did this happen? Just checked Billboard's site and see nothing...

First album was good - was at the Maxwell's, Stone Pony, and Bowery gigs when they first came here.

its an excuse to cover up the real shittier reason either lack of sales or one of the members is in rehab or management forgot to send in visa papers

How can it be lack of sales when the album hasn't gone on sale yet? Plus Motown's such a historic label they just can't say it's closing when it isn't. Methinks though they spilled some beans that weren't supposed to be spilled yet...

they're rebadging it you fools:
the motown parts (ie the "urban" artists) are moving onto island / def jam...all owned by universal

Universal Motown didn't close, the president got pushed out and the upper management got reshuffled. Some employees were let go.
I assume someone there decided the time wasn't right for their record and they decided to translate it in their own way.
