i love wilco

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 12:05 PM

This new album is their best effort yet since Yankee Hotel!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 12:14 PM

The new album is better than their last two, and it still sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 12:20 PM

god this band is worthless

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 12:21 PM

^^not as worthless as these comments.

Wilco & Black Eyed Peas
Maybe my two least favorite collection of humans on the planet

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 12:33 PM

bv chicago, ay?

had to know that was coming.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 12:34 PM

Wilco (ie: Jeff T. & Co.) are absolutely nothing, NOTHING!, without Nels Cline.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 12:49 PM

^fat chance...When did you get into Wilco 2005? I would take pre Nels to post anytime. The Bennett, Bob Edgan, Ken Coomer line up was unbeatable!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:01 PM

Actually, Wilco (ie: Jeff T. & Co.) are absolutely nothing, NOTHING!, without Jay Bennett. Why do you think YHF and Summerteeth were so good?

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:02 PM

No way. Wilco is a cracker jack band with a storied history. You fellows should find another band to troll, one more deserving of your false vitriol.

I pretty much love all of their albums, but Sky Blue Sky is my favorite. Think it's just perfect, first song to last song.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:21 PM

I went for an MRI last month and they were playing Sky Blue Sky in the chamber for relaxation purposes.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:26 PM

Yellow Submarine is my favorite Beatles album

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:26 PM

who can honestly tell me wilco the album is a good album? the new one isn't very good either, it's just "different" than the last two snoozes. still boring somehow, though.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:38 PM

Wilco are NOTHING without a hammer to smash my head in first so I don't have to suffer them.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:42 PM

^You don't want to suffer Wilco you are so thoughtful. I am sure they don't want to suffer with you.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:51 PM

1:38...sure I can..better than 95% of the crap that came out that year though it is one of the weaker Wilco albums

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:51 PM

1:51 - I'm sowwy I made you mad. Go listen to Wilco - it will make you happy. Everytime you listen to them from now on I hope you think of me.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 1:58 PM

im listening to the album now...goddamn, it is abysmal.

its a good thing jay bennett is dead so he wouldnt have to live through this.

tweedy is nothing without bennett. nels cline was a great choice but didnt help the shit albums theyve created since.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:00 PM

1:58 ...1:51 here...you need to learn how to read. Where am I mad? It was a week Wilco album which I said...

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:15 PM

2:00 you are listening to the album now? Which one Now 42? If you want to listen to Now albums just listen to Z100 and save yourself $18.99 plus shipping!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:16 PM

@2:00 PM

Totally agree.

After all of the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot comparisons subside, and despite Nels and Glenn on board, this album will be as easily forgettable as the last two.

People are saying it's a return to YHF era. The songs here are just as lame as Sky Blue Sky and Wilco the LP- but now just masked by their own YHF template. Pretty sad.

Boring.

To anyone new to the band: check out Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Summerteeth, and Being There. The Mermaid Ave albums are really good too.

RIP Jay Bennett.

Why do I get the feeling...not just in this thread thatmost of the people who call out a band as sucking never heard the music they say sucks before? I am willing to bet it is true 99% of the time...especially on BV!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:22 PM

BV....CHICAGO?!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:31 PM

y not BV china at this point

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:34 PM

Due to my love of their first four albums, I've given Wilco too many chances. This may be strike 3.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:36 PM

The Whole MEH

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:38 PM

Two Door Cinema Club is playing the Studio at Webster Hall on 9/14

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 2:43 PM

Won't co is more like it. Which is worse their music or their fans?

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 3:00 PM

^your opinon is worse..

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 3:06 PM

^2:36

I totally agree. I've loved this band since I first picked up Being There and A.M. in the late 90's (along with Uncle Tupelo CDs and Son Volt).

I loved Summerteeth and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, liked A Ghost is Born (repetitive next to YHF but still OK), but after the last two- I've been in denial that they tanked. No more proof need...I give up.

I gave the new LP 3 listens all the way through. Strike 3 is right. Really bummed.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 3:14 PM

2:15 - you might need to learn how to read as well. look at the 1:51 comment above yours.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 3:44 PM

Brooklyn Vegan AUSTIN next please

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 4:00 PM

3:44...yeah I read it..he said he doesn't want to suffer Wilco...If he said suffer thorugh Wilco maybe that would have made sense!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 4:07 PM

sausage rock > wilco

(not a compliment)

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 4:30 PM

I would take Wilco anyday over most of the crap you'll like such as GBV, NMH and Animal Collective

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2011 6:38 PM

Wilco's music is sublime and only for intellectuals.
