SNL

YouTube's KidATiki wrote on Friday:

After catching the Descendents at Roseland on Friday (9/23), I walked a couple blocks to NBC Studio to see if there were any people waiting to get stand-by tickets (which doesn't guarantee entry) for tomorrow's SNL season premier with Alex Baldwin/Radiohead......first couple people started camping on Thursday. Some dedication for these hardcore fans!
And you thought getting tickets from your desk at 10am today was hard. Check out the video of the campers below...

I wonder how many of them got in.

in other news, some people are mentally ill...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:55 PM

yeah i'm sorry that is some serious insanity right there. just to see them play two songs? i've been to SNL tapings, they're stagnant and lame.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:56 PM

haaa wut

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:56 PM

Absolutely retarded. Where are the wall-street cops with pepper spray when you need them?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:56 PM

"Absolutely retarded. Where are the wall-street cops with pepper spray when you need them?"

you beat me to it!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:57 PM

So are these same people at Roseland now?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:57 PM

":So are these same people at Roseland now?"

Colbert no doubt

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:58 PM

lol

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:58 PM

I agree, waiting that long for two songs on SNL is moronic. But their actual setup there actually looks kind of fun (for a few hours at least)! Camping, New York-style. I particularly like the gal on her laptop in the tarp fort.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:59 PM

Somewhere in the Midwest, whole counties have reported the disappearance of their village idiots.

Coincidence?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:03 PM

Look at that line!!!!! I mean these people are total fucking psychos.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:05 PM

i hope no one was blasting radiohead on a boombox. someone was blasting LCD on the line for LCD tickets at mercury lounge and i still haven't recovered from the douchechills it gave me.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:08 PM

Sitting on concrete, in the rain, exhaust fumes, no toilets, smelly, and all for *a chance* to see Radiohead perform two mediocre songs.

where can I sign up?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:08 PM

^Hey no these are all Alec Baldwin fans yo!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:10 PM

Who is Alex Baldwin?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:13 PM

Radiohead was relieved that people showed up. Lorne Michaels said if nobody showed up he would punch them in the face

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:13 PM

I love Alex Baldwin as much as the next guy, but these people should get a life!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:19 PM

Alex Baldwin is the most talented of all the Baldwins.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:22 PM

BILLY BALDWIN DISAGREES

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:23 PM

3:08,

I'm so glad I wasn't there but that's pretty funny. Remember that one person complaining that Mercury Lounge should have served everyone coffee and donuts?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:25 PM

That's future Mayor Baldwin.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:26 PM

of course, dancing donut danny. whatachump

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:28 PM

there's a tent city setting up outside roselannd right now, and the cops are gearing up for a fight!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:28 PM

to be young and have nothing better to do. staircase was lame.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:38 PM

Aric Barwin

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:42 PM

HANS BRIX!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:42 PM

Thom sounds awful on the new material. SNL songs proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. People are dumb... and unemployed.

Posted by CW | September 26, 2011 3:43 PM

^look who's talking

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:49 PM

Alex Baldwin > Stephen Baldwin > Daniel Baldwin > Billy Baldwin > Alec Baldwin

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:50 PM

It's no surprise that a good lot of RadioHEADS have no lives. This was news?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:57 PM

While I'm always skeptical of people that love a single band more than all other combined music in general, I can understand wanting to over-pay or over-commit to a singular event.

That being said, these people are fucking idiots. YOU COULD GET A JOB AT MCDONALD'S, WORK FOR THE THREE DAYS YOU'RE SITTING IN LINE, AND PAY FOR A SCALPER TICKET. YOU ARE MORONS.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:58 PM

The funniest thing about this thread is that you morons actually care about what those morons are doing with their spare time. Getting angry at a bunch of halfwit strangers.....priceless!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:08 PM

One person's idea of psycho is another person's idea of passion. Don't knock the actual REAL fans trying to see their favorite band. It is just a testament to how hardcore Radiohead fans are.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:09 PM

I would guess that none of these people got in. Back when I was in college I waited 13 hours on the SNL line to get tickets to U2 in 2004. My friend and I were numbers 9 and 10 (we choose the dress rehearsal since we figured the odds would be higher of available seats) when they finally gave out the tickets. Of course come show time we get taken through security, metal detectors, etc only to be told as we were waiting for the elevators that take you up to the studio that they were full inside. Nobody from the line got in.

This looks like basically the same situation. I don't know why they don't just tell people towards the back that they aren't getting in. The first 20 or so might have a chance, but everyone else is just wasting their time.

Posted by BK | September 26, 2011 4:19 PM

the best part of that story is where you admitted that you waited 13 hours to see U2

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:22 PM

So, do they release 200 stand-by tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:23 PM

pathetic.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:26 PM

Vhat a country!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:30 PM

I stayed out all night to get tickets (successfully) to the Beacon show back in 2003. But don't the people 15 people back, let alone 150 people back realize that someone has to not show up for them to get in?

I walked past the Other Music line for Girls last week, but I didn't get in it as I had originally planned. Anyone who has ever seen something there outta know most of those people weren't getting in.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:35 PM

i think i saw 2 black people in the line.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:42 PM

are you sure they weren't in blackface?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:44 PM

Man, they will allow black people to do anything these days. Thanks, Obama.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:50 PM

i blame the fucking media

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:52 PM

Comments 4:42 - 4:50 = Coward racist shitheads.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 5:03 PM

I love how 5:03 is offended by random commentors. Seriously, thanks for sticking up for black people on BV, not that they care, they prob get the joke

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 5:21 PM

why all the hate for people who are sitting in line hoping to get tickets to see someone they like - it was a friday night after all - they probably had fun waiting even in the rain

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 5:57 PM

DESPICABLE

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:18 PM

I hope they at least stopped by Limelight first and got some special K to help the time pass by

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:48 PM

They released 200 standby tickets, and they let in up to ticket #73. It was based on the number on your standby ticket (from 1-100), so the people who were camping probably all got in.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:51 PM

radiohead fans should be made to live in "camps" where they can "concentrate" on how great radiohead is.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:55 PM

4:19 thanks for wasting 15 seconds of my life. Absolutely no point was made whatsoever - Boring too...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 7:28 PM

@358 but they can't get jobs. that's why they're radiohead fans.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 8:03 PM

have any of these people ever even been camping before?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 8:12 PM

8:03 makes me laugh.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:02 PM

This makes me glad I didn't get Roseland tickets this morning. I don't want to be in the same room as these assholes.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:57 PM

never been to a taping

do performers play more than 2 songs?

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 1:13 AM

And there wasn't barely even two skits worth watching online from this episode that were funny.
Then there was that whiny band who played.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 1:43 AM

Elvis' jacket > Frohawk's gooch > U2 on SNL > Radiohead's 45 minute set at Roseland 9/28-29

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 7:54 AM

at least some of the videos are on the colbert site on comedycentral

it looks like it was a good time... nail in the coffin re: attempts to get tickets to wed/thurs

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:08 AM

ps national anthem is labeled as codex

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:09 AM

are these craigslist propositions serious, or are they jokes posted by people on this site? or something else entirely?

almost every post offering a +1 is looking for a "cute female companion"

weird... i can't imagine the people desperate enough to need to do something like that would actually have the balls to do something like that... can you imagine the meetup, if that were real? is it real?

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:15 AM

what's the line looking like outside roseland? are the tent people there yet?

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:33 AM

i think i saw 2 black people in the line.
