Atoms For Peace @ Roseland in 2010 (more by Bao Nguyen)
SNL

Radiohead will guest on Comedy Central's Colbert Report on September 26th.

Apart from the band's appearance on Saturday Night Live, Radiohead will also be a guest on The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. Not just as a musical guest, but Stephen Colbert will have the band on for an hour-long special. Radiohead will be playing four songs, some from The King Of Limbs, but also unreleased track The Daily Mail. An extra song will be made available online.
Stephen Colbert: "I look forward to meeting the Radioheads and leveraging their anti-corporate indie cred to raise brand awareness for my sponsors." [At Ease]

SNL is the 24th (and hopefully there's more to announce still too). And Radiohead is playing 2 nights at Roseland too!

In related news, Thom Yorke played a surprise acoustic solo show in England last night (9/18), and he recently revealed a new so-so solo track on the radio called "The Twist". You can listen to the glitchy techno number, which was part of a 25 minute mix that you can also hear, below...

Seriously, we all know they're playing shows (some of us even know where - but if you have to ask, you'll never know). Can they just announce how these impossible to get tickets will be released? End the suspense already!

Posted by Enoughhhhhhhhhh | September 19, 2011 9:50 AM

Someone wasnt lying....

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:52 AM

1) Stephen Colbert should have won Emmys last night!
2) BV giving us another hint with Roseland picture...hmm I wonder where the show is going to take place
3) These two shows will be the shows of 2011!
4) Fuck hummus, frohawk, meh, Daft Punk comment, and ...........
5) Thank you Live Nation. Not Bowery Presents for booking these shows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:52 AM

Way to serve your fans, Thom. Play a bunch of shitty TV shows for promotion purposes and leave the rest of us in the cold.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:54 AM

9:50,

I'm sure the shows won't be a "secret". You can't do that when you're this big of a band.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:55 AM

LOL King of Limbs was so bad!

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:55 AM

^will never be happy

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:56 AM

9:50 does't know what the phrase "If you have to ask you'll never know" means.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:58 AM

Why did they move Stephen Malkmus show to Webster Hall to 9/25 Sunday when Mobb Deep/Llyod Banks are playing there already that night....

I smell Bowery Presents doing something to boost up the ticket sales...

Imagine if they moved it back to Terminal 5 cause I'm pretty sure Mobb Deep show won't moving to another venue!

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 9:59 AM

9/23, 9/24 and 9/26 at Roseland are likely out (9/23 - Descendents, 9/24 - SNL taping, 9/26 Colbert taping)

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:03 AM

My "if you have to ask you'll never know" means exactly what it does. I know when and where the shows are, but don't ask me to tell you.

I'm not saying the shows will be secret, but the time is drawing near for some freaking info as to how to get tickets so that those of us with jobs can prepare accordingly.

Posted by Enoughhhhhhhhhh | September 19, 2011 10:04 AM

You can tape Colbert during the day and still do a show at night pretty easily -- although SNL, of course, no.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:05 AM

@1003 Pavement did Colbert taping and played Summerstage the same day last year....

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:06 AM

@Enoughhhhhhh-

How the fuck do you know "when and where" the shows are ahead of the general public, yet be completely clueless as to what the ticketing situation is?

Bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:08 AM

Noone on this board knows where, or even if they're playing. Love how anonymous people feel they can impress other anonymous people. Fucking retarded.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:10 AM

@Enoughhhhhhh know where/when his next boweling will take place, but that's about it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:10 AM

@Enoughhhhhhhhh lives in Kansas City, never been to NYC, a senior in HS and never seen Radiohead.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:14 AM

If there are shows, *some* ppl know - you can't just drop out of the sky & show up at a Fish & Fry unannounced if you're RH. Some planning needs to be done.

As far as knowing when/where ahead of general public, but not *how* to get tix, I've been in that sit'n several times, so very believable.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:15 AM

@ 10:08 There are MANY MANY MANY ways to know about unannounced shows and not know how to get tickets. If you don't know that, you don't know how many people are involved in a show. It's not like it's the band, the manager, the venue box office and no one else.

@10:14 - I live right here in good ol Manhattan, and I've seen Radiohead more times than you... that I am sure of.

Better talk to my teachers about taking off from school and book that flight from good ol KC now. Gonna need to be in NYC until Sept. 30th at least.

Posted by Enoughhhhhhhhhhhh | September 19, 2011 10:29 AM

@Enoughhhhhhhhhhhh is definitley one of the bigger tools that has posted on this board.

"Yaaaaaayyy, I know when tickets are selling. Yaaaaaayyyyyy, I've seen Radiohead more times than you...."

I'm willing to bet he's 19, and goes to NYU, by way of some rich little suburb outside of Chicago. Bet his name is probably Jeremiah.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:37 AM

i love internet know-it-alls and internet tough guys

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:37 AM

10 years ago I would have been excited about this.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:38 AM

Sept 25 and 26 at Hammerstein Ballroom or the Grand Ballroom upstairs.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:45 AM

God I love the internet. Nothing better than starting a flame thread on BV. I'm glad I can bring joy to every internet tough guy's day. You can still all do better though. Don't let this be the end.

Yours truly,
Jeremiah @ NYU via North Chicago through Kansas City.

Posted by Enoughhhhhhhhhhhh | September 19, 2011 10:45 AM

Wait, you're in college? Seriously, the last time Radiohead did a proper tour of the US in 2006, you were what, 13?
You should have stayed anonymous.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:49 AM

@10 49 - Really dude? Read the comments above about my "identity".

And Radiohead played 24 US shows in 2008. Before trying to be a wiseass, try actually being wise.

Posted by Enoughhhhhhhhhhhh | September 19, 2011 10:55 AM

haha, 1049...but it was 2008.

though, i cant believe that someone that's probably only seen radiohead one time as a teenie-weenie highschooler could drop any knowledge at this point.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:57 AM

teenie-weenie highschooler, lulz

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:57 AM

Any Radiohead fans should know that you should always expect the unexpected from these boys.....

we all know they'll announced the show middle of this week....

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 10:58 AM

My buddy says they will be playing King Of Limbs in its entirety and nothing else. Can anyone confirm?

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 11:00 AM

@Enoughhhhhhhhhhhh - likes people to know he's really "connected" in the "biz" and that he's a been big "fan" for "years."

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 11:00 AM

Jeremiah @ NYU via North Chicago through Kansas City is super excited checking this blog during his bathroom breaks as head 'barista' at Starbucks.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 11:02 AM

What's fun about using an actual name to post unlike the rest of you pussies is that I get to keep the flame ware going... because, as Mr. T can tell you - nothing says tough like anonymously ripping strangers on the internet.

I do have to say though, the quality of these insults is terrible. If I'm going to keep wasting my morning on here, let's at least step it up.

Posted by Enoughhhhhhhhhhhh | September 19, 2011 11:03 AM

Enoughhhhhhhhhhhhhh will be new Frohawk!

ps I can't wait for BV to post Radiohead tickets to go onsale today in less than 48 hours.....

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 11:11 AM

Barista? Come on...Enoughhhhhhhhhhhh makes $70K a year! You know he's hitting those shows!

I didn't know hipsters cared about Radiohead.....

I hope none of them will be taking photos with their IPhone or IPads next week....if so, I'll seriously spill drinks on their head and walk away.

It's happening next though;)

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 11:34 AM

"I didn't know hipsters cared about Radiohead....."

Strange, I had always thought Radiohead was one of those godfather hipster bands.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 11:35 AM

"if so, I'll seriously spill drinks on their head and walk away."

If you ever think about spilling a drink on my head the last thing you'll be doing is walking away.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2011 11:35 AM

11:30 - wimp who wants revenge for having drinks spilled over his head
