My nards are festering with grapeshot. Zeus talks back to a mound of salt. An Odwalla cart fastens itself to my leg.

Show was great but man, I never thought I would see the day when douche bag bro dudes would have to get constantly shhhhed at a Radiohead concert. I mean, who tries that hard to get tickets, pays that much money, only to get in and talk loudly over every song that wasn't Karma Police? Don't get me wrong, a little talking at shows is going to happen but this was ridiculous - at least where I was standing.

New York I love you, but you're bringing me down.

Today, we are all douche bag bros.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 8:28 AM

8:23 you are 100% correct. Unfortunately every time I have seen Radiohead or Yorke solo, the bros & their annoying wanna be hipster girlfriends come and talk and discuss weekend plans rather than watch the gig. They just want to tell their co-workers and friends they were at the show to sound cool.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 8:47 AM

the crowd ruined the show it was a parade of asshats all night long. no matter where you went. From a fat lady yammering all night, bro with a ralley cap on and tank top, lady playing a game w/ sounds on her camer during a piano song.. the people at this show were unreal.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 8:52 AM

The only people I know that like Radohead are douche bag bro dudes.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 8:54 AM

My buddy and I got in for free last night - no shit, seriously! All it took was a bit of imagination ... and a sharpie! A really nice outcome given that I was ready to drop $500 on a ticket ...

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 9:21 AM

Gonna have to agree with the talking... Had to tell some douchebag trader to shut up who was talking as loud as he could over the music. Failing miserably, trying to impress the broker who brought him to the show about what a big swinging (classless, overweight) trader he is. Obviously he responded by shouting that everyone was talking so it was ok. Bro-Bra - You love the sound of your voice, we get it, but nobody (including the poor guy paid to listen to you) cares about how masterfuly you traded your book, yesterday, today or any day. STFU

1st night was much better

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 9:23 AM

They were just impossibly great, though. The songs from 2007 on made sense live in a whole new way. The KOL tunes in particular, which hadn't really grabbed me on record, killed live. The band is a tight, muscular machine...reminded me with the extra drummer of a space-age version of Remain in Light-era Talking Heads, but way, way heavier...and Thom Y brings it altogether with a James Brown level of charisma and showmanship.

setlist?

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 9:40 AM

to the inconsiderate douche bag sitting on the railing in the back the whole time, blocking peoples' views, fuck you!

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 9:40 AM

Four Tet sucked. Way prefer him solo.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 9:45 AM

Blew night one out of the water. Only snoozer was Supercollider.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 9:56 AM

i was hoping they might play the butcher, would have preferred that over supercollider, but still a cool bust-out

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:02 AM

You people are so fucknig stupid, how could night 2 blow night 1 out of the water when only 2 songs were different. Not to mention Thom had to shut the whole crowd up.

Posted by Adam | September 30, 2011 10:19 AM

true love waits. wow.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:26 AM

to the d-bags that talked through the entire too quiet four tet set and pretty much ruined it... i hate you.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:34 AM

"1st night was much better"

on paper 2nd night was much better. how was wednesday better?

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:37 AM

"i was hoping they might play the butcher, would have preferred that over supercollider, but still a cool bust-out"

haha you might want to look up the definition of bust-out. SHA and true love waits are bust-outs, not supercollider

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:39 AM

you guys mention the douchebags like this behavior is not something that happens at 75% of shows nowadays. if it's not the constant talking, it's the phone picture people, or the constant texters. people are raging narcissists that put their inability to be quiet and still, and their phone addictions ahead of everything else, always.

it makes me sad. i go to shows to have fun, and i end up getting angry.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:41 AM

I wonder if they'll play a more varied set when they start their tour. I love the last two albums, but I've heard In Rainbows enough - i'd like to hear some more cuts off OK/Bends/Amnesiac. And can I get a "Stop Whispering" just once?

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:46 AM

"it makes me sad. i go to shows to have fun, and i end up getting angry."

yeah me too, i was so pissed by the end of the night. not only was everyone talking and being an asshole but no one knew any of the older tunes. at the time i thought i was the only one in the building that knew true love waits. that tune is so rare and no one even cared. i feel so bad for all the diehards that got locked out of this show so that fuckwad scenesters can hang out and chat all night

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:46 AM

yes there will be more variety than these shows, i would think. take a look at the 2008 setlists and substitute the in rainbows tunes for king of limbs songs. rainbows will also then be put in the older tune rotation. though i think 15 step, nude, arpeggi might be played just about every night

I am waiting for Blow Out! Yeah no one seemed to know True Love, Subterranian..weird

The Radiohead shows are done. No more posts about Radiohead from BV! What will I do with my free time?

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:54 AM

10:41 - Yes, that does happen at 75% of shows nowadays. But it's even more pronounced when you put it in the context of entitled morons who just got access to the hardest ticket in town, only to waste their time yapping or fiddling with their phone during the show, while diehards who would have appreciated the show got shut out.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:58 AM

^ get couseling

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 10:58 AM

Thought the show was awesome. Hadn't seen Radiohead since that MTV $2 Bill show at the Beacon and almost forgot how damn good these guys sound.

Loved hearing a lot of the more recent stuff live for the first time, 15 Step was a highlight.

Posted by Tremags | September 30, 2011 10:59 AM

Anyone see the ultra-bro in a flat-rim hat and gold chain getting into a fight with a bald photog during The National Anthem and Everything In Its Right Place? Biggest douche I've ever seen. Guy was basically fist-pumping the entire show. This isn't Pacha, bro.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:04 AM

15 step was GREAT live. Love seeing Thom jump around and sing-rap like he's still 22.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:05 AM

Holy crap BV. Those are EXACTLY the 4 videos I wanted to see - amazing quality too. Well fuckin done.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:12 AM

thanks 8:26!

to everyone else complaining about douchebag bros et al ruining the show, wtf is wrong with you? tell them to shut the fuck up or go stand somewhere else. they will. if one of them starts to get in your face after you say this, just punch him as hard as you can in the jaw, before the rest of the group joins in

if you get your ass kicked, it is probably a better result than meekly standing around in rage, letting them ruin your special radiohead time

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:22 AM

The Daily Mail was a highlight for me. Great performance; love that tune.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:29 AM

re: 11:22am. 100,000% percent on this. people don't like confrontation, even when it is completely warranted. if some asshole is trying to cut in front of you, tell him it isn't happening. if some drunk imbecile is babbling the entire time and falling into people, tell them to shut the fuck up and support their own weight. if they don't, get security - they're there for a reason.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:34 AM

where do i sign up for the radiohead @ roseland survivors rehab group? shit was like running a marathon.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:42 AM

a.) Setlist? b.) First night was better

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 11:50 AM

Not many issues from where I was standing.
But if you had an issue with someone capturing video or whatnot, be a fucking man and communicate your displeasure. Don't hide behind a message board like a big strap on.

Posted by Andyb | September 30, 2011 11:57 AM

anyone get a photo of the original setlist? saw some comments that orignal setlist included airbag, twisted words

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 12:00 PM

All the songs sounded the same!

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 12:05 PM

Amazing just how many complaining ass clowns there are out there. Seeing this band at this venue was amazing to say the least. The new material sounded awesome. High energy, overall fabulous live performance.

@12:05 Be Grateful jerk-o-lantern! I wanted like spinning plates so bad and you 2nd nighters got it.

Posted by bill | September 30, 2011 12:23 PM

when did david yow join radiohead?

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 12:25 PM

Yes, they steered off the setlist a couple of times. "Airbag" was supposed to be played 4th but didn't happen. Impromptu, Thom added "Like Spinning Plates. "Twisted Words" was listed in the first encore and didn't happen and "How to Disappear Completely" was listed as last song of 2nd encore and didn't happen. They closed with "Nude" again.

RADIOHEAD IS PLAYING OCCUPY WALLSTREET RIGHT NOW!

http://evgrieve.com/2011/09/radiohead-playing-at-occupy-wall-street.html

yeah!!! power to the people!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 1:28 PM

11:22 I hear you but it's not that simple. In a perfect world, douche bag is a douche bag, you tell him to shut up, he shuts up and goes away, or maybe you kick his ass and teach him a lesson.

In the real world, douche bag is a douche bag, you say something, he talks back, you get into a scuffle then security comes and you get kicked out of a show you really wanted to see. Or worse, you get hurt. Or even worse, he gets hurt and you go to jail.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 1:49 PM

i really wanted to hear airbag, bummer

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 2:17 PM

not that spinning plates wasn't really nice because it was but reading that thom ousted airbag for it makes me question so many things i once accepted as true.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 3:37 PM

People need to start growing some balls and telling people to STFU at concerts. Also, TAKE NOTE VENUES! It couldn't hurt to have a nice actual human being come to the mic before the show, and politely tell the crowd that they shouldn't text during the show, or hold up their stupid camera phones to take shitty pictures that are going to look like shit, and if they want to talk to each other instead of listening to the music, go to Starbucks or a bar.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 3:56 PM

I went both nights. They weren't anything special.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 6:06 PM

i go to shows and sometimes talk during them. It's not a library. I paid for my ticket and have a right to converse. People work really hard during the week and don't have much time to talk to their friends. This gives them an opportunity to hang out while having a great band provide background music. If you have a problem with this... well it's your problem. And feel free to start a confrontation with me. I don't think I'll be the one that'll end up with an ass kicking.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 6:34 PM

Yes, you paid money so you can do what you want. It's great to see you're a libertarian. But have some respect for the people around you, as well as the artists on stage. It's called being a considerate human being.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2011 7:05 PM

6:34, then go see some shitty bar band or bar with music if the actual concert is not the intention of you attending actual said concert. moviegoers pay for their movie tickets too but that doesn't entitle them to converse doing a movie. if you want to talk, go to a bar, dinner or stand at the actual bar of a venue. AND i could kick your ass.

Posted by 6:34 is a douche | September 30, 2011 8:54 PM

witnessed a woman complaining infront of the soundboard Night 2 about people "bumping into her" and "crowding her", after her complaints for about 5 songs i watched 2-4 people scream SHUT THE FUCK UP directly at her and her male companion. they quickly removed themselves from the section. was pure victory.
