Y'all ready for this?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:09 AM

This thread is going to be a fun read come 10:01

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:10 AM

Would you recommend resheshing the order page for a specific night or going back to the search results (both nights listed) in order to refresh the specific order page?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Meh. I saw them at Tramps in '95. I'm so much fucking cooler than all of you.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:17 AM

10:01 is gonna be special

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:17 AM

I'm just curious if there's much advantage to buying them at the box office - is there a line there?

Posted by duh | September 26, 2011 9:17 AM

SHHHSHSHSHSHSHHHHHH!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:18 AM

it's funny that you guys keep referencing 10:01...

wow...great throwback...i remember that article.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:24 AM

:/

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:30 AM

none of you are getting tix to this

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:30 AM

Good luck to all of the scalpers out there. I hope the 2 ticket maximum and will call disbursement does not prevent you from securing as many tickets as possible. I look forward to your StubHub listings starting at $500.

Also, I can't wait to read that pervert's Craigslist post in which he offers his extra Radiohead ticket in exchange for unthinkable acts.

Posted by Dan | September 26, 2011 9:31 AM

A GUY CAN DREAM, CAN'T HE

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:34 AM

Are these tickets online only, or can we call TM too?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:35 AM

Alrighty everyone who is a big Doctors fan..I will offer up a ticket to either Bowery or Brooklyn Bowl in exchange for a Radiohead ticket..I will also throw in 5 lbs of your favorite hummus! Takers?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:36 AM

Online and phone as well. No box office sales as there is no tickets being distributed

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:37 AM

I just tried you cant buy tickets over the phone. The automated voice told me online only. Fucking WACK!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:38 AM

Team work makes the dream work.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:38 AM

Radiohead's performance on SNL bumped the lip-synching Simpson sister from that show's worst musical performance to second worst.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:39 AM

After this turns into a huge clusterfuck will Thom schedule 5 more shows at T5?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:40 AM

I spoke to a guy who is offering one of those "ticket pulling services" on ebay, not sure if you've seen them. You basically pay for them to get the tix on your behalf, using your TM account and credit card to make it legit. You obviously have to trust that they're not going to run up your account with other purchases, but that's the risk you take.

Anyway, the guy explained openly that he has like 50-100 computers hooked up to huge servers that each run a program with an algorithm that goes in and secures tix as fast as possible, concurrently. There are multiple/companies out there like this. He was very open and honest about it, and said frankly that average Joe ticket buyer stands like zero chance of competing for tix. With bigger venues where availability is greater, maybe, but with a venue like Roseland, no chance.

Tix are going to be gone as soon as they're made available, and it's b/c we're competing with robots on a very uneven playing field. There is no way to compete with it, unless you have a similar program or setup, period. Sorry for the dose of reality, folks.

Glad I don't like Radiohead....couldn't take the pressure! :-x

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:52 AM

captcha "secrets" are stupid and save no time

you want to figure out on the fly whether you have to bother typing in the second word... how long does that take you anyway?!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:53 AM

I am a TicketMaster whisperer and will give it a shot this morning. I helped a tourist carry her luggage up from a subway platform yesterday so karma is at 100%.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:08 AM

Wow. So did the Wednesday show actually get up there at 10AM or was it just a random time around 10:05? A bunch of people seemed to be getting that "not yet on sale" message. And then they were gone. Nice job Ticketmaster. You guys are the best. Wait did I say best? I meant only.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:09 AM

damn

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:09 AM

Radiohead playing Pablo Honey in its entirety at Roseland.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:09 AM

gone in sixty seconds

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:09 AM

I'd rather see Noel Gallagher.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:10 AM

sold out in less than 5 seconds

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:10 AM

@10:09 For me, Wednesday was up at 10am on the dot. Took a few minutes to get past the waiting screen, but the tickets seemed to go on sale promptly.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:11 AM

Wednesday must have went up late. Ticketmaster totally fucked up. Happy Rosh Hashanah.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:11 AM

had a ticket. ticketmaster said there was an error when i submitted my order. fuck that site.

i'm so fucking mad.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:11 AM

got 1 or thursday!! changed best avaliable and it worked but no doubt there wa delay!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:11 AM

got cut off at the confirmation screen. called and the rather nasty woman simply said the "order didn't go through".

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:11 AM

day 1 didn't go up for me until like 10:06

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:12 AM

for me, wednesday tickets didn't go up until 10:05 and then were immediately gone.
so messed up.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:12 AM

I hear big freedia and frohawk are guest dancers for the Lotus Flower encore

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:13 AM

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:13 AM

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:13 AM

went up at 10, made it all the way to confirmation even did Verify visa.. then unexpected error. I hate ticketmaster. I hate radiohead. I hate everyone.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:13 AM

bullshit, I usually have good luck with these instantly sold out tix, i guess I was due for a loss

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:13 AM

Keep trying -- especially on Live Nation. I just got 2 tix for Thursday. 10:14

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:14 AM

crazy--Thursday didn't go up for me until about 10:04 then of course no luck. Had Wed going in another browser no luck there either. Congrats for those who got :(

Hit me up:

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:14 AM

what the fuck

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:15 AM

Giving up (sigh) ... back to reality.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:15 AM

"was on the last step and it errored while waiting."

i was worried this might happen to me. i put in my billing info and it spun for like 3 minutes..scared the shit outta me

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:16 AM

It had me five minutes verifying my Visa too, then my MC, but finally went through. Thank God!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:16 AM

ticketmaster blows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:16 AM

I wonder how many tix were on sale to the public?

Probably what a few hundred - if that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:16 AM

ticket master is such bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:18 AM

live nation? It transfers you over to T'master. Is there some other wondrous loophole, or are you leaving out that vivid and vital piece of info?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:18 AM

Yup, I thought I had two for Thursday, made it all the way through credit card input and verified by visa and before the confirmation screen I got a Ticketmaster error. Not acceptable.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:18 AM

said "tickets not available" for thursday for like five minutes then when they went up they were all gone.

feels like they let the scalpers in first.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:18 AM

Got two! For Wed! Woohoo!

Posted by anon e mouse | September 26, 2011 10:19 AM

" "was on the last step and it errored while waiting."

i was worried this might happen to me. i put in my billing info and it spun for like 3 minutes..scared the shit outta me"

Same thing. Nerve racking.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:19 AM

This wasn't as bad as LCD, but still pretty shitty.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:19 AM

Ok, got an extra for thursday night. Any chick wanna come with me for $600 and I'll pick up dinner?

Posted by Ryan Genitles | September 26, 2011 10:19 AM

The only one who can get more than 2 tickets right now is CHUCK NORRIS !!!!

Dear ticketmaster thanks to fucked me again .....

Posted by Kazukovox | September 26, 2011 10:20 AM

Of course ticketmaster can never be trusted, but wow I'd rather have what happened to me than getting all the way to the end and having an error message dropped

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:20 AM

"live nation? It transfers you over to T'master. Is there some other wondrous loophole, or are you leaving out that vivid and vital piece of info?"

i think this person meant using the live nation app

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:20 AM

felt like it was gunna crap out for me at the visa confirmation screen but finally went though after 3ish minutes - got two for thurs!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:20 AM

this was nowhere near as bad as lcd

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:21 AM

I used the Live Nation app and it made me wait at first & didn't go through, then I re-tried 10 times and finally got two for Thursday at 10:14. I think they're more expensive, total was $159.50.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:22 AM

Got the one I wanted for Thursday!

Posted by treece | September 26, 2011 10:22 AM

2 for wednesday

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:22 AM

They didn't "let in scalpers first", they make the same amount of money no matter who buys the tickets. There's like 40,000+ people trying to get about 3K public/non fan club tickets. It's life and odds, no one at Roseland/Radiohead/Ticketmaster has an agenda against you

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:23 AM

^ yes, they DO!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:23 AM

"Ok, got an extra for thursday night. Any chick wanna come with me for $600 and I'll pick up dinner?" hahahahaha

confirmation screen also took 5 minutes to load for me. took one in my pants.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:23 AM

"this was nowhere near as bad as lcd"

absofuckinglutely. the lcd tix didn't even show up with a link to try until 15 mins after the hour or some shit, this was actually somewhat reasonable.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:23 AM

I wonder how many people with tix are actually into the band and how many just got them because it's the cool thing to do. Because you know a good quarter of LCD's MSG show was people who had never listened to them for more than 10 minutes in their life.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:24 AM

Pulled a pair for Wednesday on a lark. Never would have happened if I really gave a damn. Really would have rather seen the Aristocrats at Hiro, but WTF. Guess I'll go.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:24 AM

yeah, once i saw this being advertised on the NBC screen on the PATH i knew it was over

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:24 AM

motherfucker

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:25 AM

10:25, giving up
closest I got was an idle Searching screen for about 3 minutes
I am so done with Ticketmaster

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:26 AM

@1024 once you thought it was over i knew it was over for you.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:26 AM

ok, so ticketmaster fucked up my order for Thursday's show, but managed to get one for Wednesday a few minutes later. i hate ticketmaster, but at least i'm going.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:26 AM

fri, sat show tixs going on sale...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:26 AM

lest we forget, radiohead are one of the biggest bands of all time. of course they sold out immediately.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:27 AM

I'll buy your Aristocrats tix and dinner. Let's swap. Post your e-mail. Thankee :>

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:27 AM

All I get now is Sorry no matches found, not sure what that means

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:27 AM

Just got a Wed ticket at like 10:20. It wouldn't pull up 2, but when I put in 1, I got it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:28 AM

^ It means there are no girls that match your criteria on OK Cupid.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:28 AM

Radiohead remains the only band I have great difficulty getting tickets to! (Though I somehow managed to see their last few shows in NYC thanks to friends & what not. Well, not that stupid festival in Jersey. But their Theater at MSG shows, then their MSG arena shows before that.) Any other show I I try for, I get. I usually have good luck. This one is not in my cards I guess.

Oh well. Their new album sucks anyway. Maybe I'll just stay home & listen to OK Computer & The Bends. And I won't have to put up with a couple thousand dirty hipsters either.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:29 AM

10:16,

I'd wager, between the two nights, probably 5500 total on sale. Some went to W.A.S.T.E and the rest were TM.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:30 AM

Ticketmaster made me think I got 2 tickets for Wed. Got an order #, then the screen had an error and told me to check my order history. Don't see it listed there. Currently having a heart attack.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:30 AM

hundreds of thousands are competing for 2800 pairs and you blame ticketmaster for not getting yours?

Posted by ME | September 26, 2011 10:30 AM

Was about to give up but got on for Wed five minutes ago! WHOO!

Posted by jason | September 26, 2011 10:32 AM

The Roseland Ballroom has a standing capacity of 3200

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:32 AM

scalper here. just wanted to let you know that they do, in fact, let us have early access to all tickets. there's actually this little room. 2 doors, i think. anyway, they have all of the tickets in there. the doors open at approximately 5 minutes before 10am in each time zone. you should see the place. it's crazy.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:33 AM

No luck here either. Sorry folks. I tried for Wed and didn't get the selection screen til like 10:07.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:33 AM

i blame ticketmaster for not having the capacity to handle the number of hits it generates for on-sales like this. i blame ticketmaster for having a reputation for swindling music fans. radiohead at least have done everything possible to keep scalpers from buying up all the tickets, but ticketmaster's reputation for corruption and its obvious incompetence are not winning any friends around here.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:34 AM

anyone have a reasonable estimate of the set times for this show?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:37 AM

I hate when I know they are sold out ...and yet I keep trying.

Someone yell at me right now please. I desperately need snark. Thx

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:37 AM

they should have fucking sold tickets on W.A.S.T.E what were they thinking. I only pray that they add a fri and sat show

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:37 AM

10:34,

Ticketmaster does suck but it's servers are actually pretty good based on all the demand for the various events across the country/world it gets. I think it's really a case of demand exceeding supply along with the usual shady "ticket broker" nonsense.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:38 AM

Pro-tip for next time that might help people saying they didn't see the screen until 10:07 or whatever:

Hold "Shift" as you refresh the page. This refreshes the cache too, ensuring that you don't see the outdated page just because your browser didn't reload the ticket-selection area. Probably won't solve all those problems, but might solve some.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:39 AM

I'll buy your Aristocrats tix and dinner. Let's swap. Post your e-mail. Thankee :>

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:39 AM

what I don't understand is how scalpers and brokers can sell tix for this show given the requirements--will-call only, photo id, wristband, etc etc. How is it even possible?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:40 AM

Bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:41 AM

@10:37, there was a waste sale. last week.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:41 AM

to 10:40

2 scalpers, each walks in a "Guest"

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:42 AM

All gone. :(

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:42 AM

Got two! Do they have any other good songs besides "The Creep"?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:42 AM

i dont get it. i pull in 65k a year. why didnt i get a ticket

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:42 AM

i will shave your balls with my braun cruzer for a ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:42 AM

yeffrou atfsep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:42 AM

FUCK ALL OF YOU.

Im sorry. I didn't mean that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:42 AM

1034, if they didn't have the server capacity the site would crash. There was tens of thousands of people trying to get less than 6K tickets, are you really that retarded to think it wouldn't be difficult?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:43 AM

@10:42 - i laughed

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:44 AM

This is average joe. I got 2 tix on the floor for thursday night from all the way over here in stockholm over free wifi at lydmar hotel. don't give up!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:44 AM

I guess I will be going to temple after all

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:44 AM

i got 2 tickets but mistakenly used my husband's amex. if i bring his card and our marriage license and a copy of his id or something are they going to turn me away? he's traveling so he can't even come with me to pick up the tix...ugh!! help!!

Posted by no! | September 26, 2011 10:44 AM

that is, i laughed at "The Creep"

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:44 AM

From the way it sounds, it seems like people who used the Live Nation app on their iPhones or iPads had better luck than folks who just went to the TicketMaster site from their browser. That feasibly could be true, in that they may have given an unfair advantage to those who use their app, so that they ultimately get more people to use their app.
If that is actually the case, that's effed up. The LiveNation app is only available on iPhones and iPads; not available for Android or Blackberry users.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:45 AM

curious if anyone pulled mezzanine.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:45 AM

10:43 - who are these ticketmaster apologists? yes, you are obviously correct, but who cares, people are complaining because they got shut out, it makes sense even though their complaints are not rationale, but why would anyone actually take the opposite position?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:45 AM

I love the snark
Makes me feel really nice about having wasted 45 minutes of my life, with 2 browsers open, and no tickets to show for it

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:46 AM

i thought there used to be a ticket master app?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:47 AM

now i hate ipads/iphones even more now.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:47 AM

10:44 if the name of the credit card is his, you should call ticketmaster and ask them directly, they have helped me with similar situations in the past
good luck

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:47 AM

hey 10:44, i'm sure there are a ton of guys on here who'll be your husband for the night. if you can post a photo, i'd consider it, too.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:48 AM

I doubt any of this is Ticketmaster's fault, except if they gave LiveNation app users an unfair advantage. Otherwise, the demand is way outweighing the demand. For that, I blame Radiohead for playing only 2 dates at a venue that is way too small for the amount of people that want to see them.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:49 AM

Got one for Thurs right at 10am - weeeeeeeee

Posted by Funderburgh | September 26, 2011 10:49 AM

10:46 two browsers hurts your chance of getting tickets!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:49 AM

radiohead is the best band in the world

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:50 AM

I was the firt 10:49 - I meant "demand is way outweighing the supply". Bleh, you know what I meant....

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:50 AM

1047 thanks a bunch. they give me roseland phone which is not picking up/also prob being slammed. im bringing a ton of his id with me, if they turn me away they'd have to be crazy...sigh, this whole thing almost killed me!

Posted by no! | September 26, 2011 10:50 AM

^ Ha!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:51 AM

just got a message after looking away for a few seconds that my "tickets were reserved in two browsers" and to close one. closed, pressed Continue and was taken back to main event page. hope this doesn't mean that i ever actually had tix. kill me.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:51 AM

"I blame Radiohead for playing only 2 dates at a venue that is way too small for the amount of people that want to see them.

My thoughts exactly. At least play at msg a few nights.

Or better yet terminal 5, 5 consecutive nights!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:51 AM

eww msg i woudlnt even go

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:52 AM

"10:43 - who are these ticketmaster apologists? yes, you are obviously correct, but who cares, people are complaining because they got shut out, it makes sense even though their complaints are not rationale, but why would anyone actually take the opposite position?"

why would u waste ur time writing this?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:53 AM

the new record wasn't a BIG record by any means - it'd fall so flat in a giant venue.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:54 AM

I like the Creep. I like to make big party. XXXcited to get tickx for this big party show. Sirius question: what other good songs can i buy before show on Itunes stor of musi.c?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:54 AM

If this were Radiohead between 1995 and 2000, I'd be pissed about not getting tickets. But this is Radiohead in 2011, with a string of shitty albums under their belt, so I don't feel so bad about not getting tickets today.

Posted by Matt | September 26, 2011 10:54 AM

Stop bitching that this venue is too small for them. Yes, it obviously is, and that's why these shows are special. A rare chance to see them in a non-arena setting. You'd probably be singing a different tune if you managed to get tickets.

But I'm sure they'll come around in 2012 and play MSG, so you can enjoy that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:55 AM

Hammerstein would've been better than Roseland. Wellmont would've been a nice wildcard.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:57 AM

""I blame Radiohead for playing only 2 dates at a venue that is way too small for the amount of people that want to see them."

they won't do this. thom already confirmed they are touring next year, you will see them. stop whining

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:58 AM

10:54 - hilarious. I sense a make big party Russian meme forming.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:58 AM

10:49 misses the point so hard

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:58 AM

10:49(b) please explain how two browsers hurts your chance of getting tickets

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:58 AM

I am going but Radiohead is the only band left I would venture to Roseland to see. Roseland is hands down the worst venue, sound and they oversell it time and time again. Hope it is better this time!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:58 AM

Thom said they will be touring, but not where.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:59 AM

i like turtles

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:59 AM

Are you serious about Roseland being the worst? Have you been to Terminal 5 before?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:00 AM

people who think radiohead hasn't done anything good since 2000 = stupid.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:01 AM

10:58...lets use another show for an example. If you have two browsers open lets say if Radiohead was playing MSG...in browser 1 you pull up two tickets in the 100's...lets say now browser two you pull up two in the 200's. Try and purchase the first pair and it will error because you have two pulss from the same ip address. You can not purchase any tickets when you have two active windows open. To successfully purchase any tickets you would have to close a window and hope it still doesn't cause an error.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:02 AM

when have they ever done standing only mezzanine? that sounds like it blows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:02 AM

congrats to whomever got tix

something shady definately went on as i was blocked from buying tickets until 1008am on both my blackberry and desk top

but its not worth crying over

ill try and find an extra and if not, not.

Posted by Jordan | September 26, 2011 11:03 AM

i used proxied one connection through my server and one with my native ip.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:03 AM

11:00 I would take T5 any day over roseland. Roseland has no where to go if crowded...t5 has 2 other mezz. Also the space is more open than Roseland

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:04 AM

2 other mezz's that you can't see anything from

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:04 AM

10:55 & 10:58 - I'm not bitching or whining. Just stating that anyone who blames TicketMaster for the reason why they did not get tickets is completely wrong - misplaced blame. The fact is that TicketMaster can handle a volume of several thousand tickets a minute. There were probably only about 3000 tickets TOTAL available (if that) across both shows, and probably tens of thousands or more people trying to access those tickets. Simple math. Demand outweighing supply.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:04 AM

What are my chances for a standyby colbert ticket today?

Posted by Alex | September 26, 2011 11:04 AM

atoms for peace was horrible at roseland.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:04 AM

^if you are not already online...zero!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:05 AM

What time do tickets go on sale?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:05 AM

in -66 minutes

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:06 AM

11:04...if you are early at T5 you can snag a front row mezz at T5...it is not ideal but you can see fine. Roseland it doesn't matter when you get there you never really have a good chance. The back of Roseland is also always filler with chatter and that stupid railing which makes it a fire hazard and a pain when coming and going

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:07 AM

Re: Two browsers

On my computer at least, two browsers works fine. Two windows in the SAME browser, though, causes the issues mentioned.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:07 AM

I'm willing to bet some hummus Stipe will be there both nights...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:08 AM

tix on ebay ranging from $300 to $5000 lol

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:11 AM

"What are my chances for a standyby colbert ticket today?"

Like the guy above said, unless you are in line right now you have no chance. Actually most of the stand by people today have no chance. I do have 3 tickets to Colbert today though and one is an extra. You can have it for 400 bucks. That is how much i should be able to get from the standby suckers out there when they realize they are not getting in.

"atoms for peace was horrible at roseland."

You are an idiot. They were great and the sound was actually pretty good.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:11 AM

11:02 - thanks, didn't know that

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:11 AM

i'm at the commodore and hearing whispers of a midnight yorke solo show at death by audio tonight.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:12 AM

11:11 I was stuck in back and it sucked

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:12 AM

i have been staring at the little clock thingy rotate on the ticket page for the past 45 minutes on my other laptop. time to give up or is it still going to go through? tia.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:14 AM

fuck ticketmaster!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:14 AM

"11:11 I was stuck in back and it sucked"

Well that makes sense then. Yeah Roseland in the back sucks. You should have done what I did and what I will do this week at Roseland. You push and shove your way up close. It is not hard at all to do.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:16 AM

fuck radiohead!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:17 AM

11:14 - 45 mins means you first tried to get tickets at 10:30. Way too late to get tickets so time to give up.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:17 AM

"2 other mezz's that you can't see anything from"

you beat me to it, t5 is awful crowded

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:21 AM

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:23 AM

concert of the decade. and i'm going both nights.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:25 AM

Any possibility of waitig outside and getting tickets from a scapler? Or with this walk right in policy will the scalpers have to actually attend the show?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:26 AM

Hey @11:25, could you not rub it in people's faces please?
Also, I will blow you for a ticket. And if you're a girl, I'll listen to your problems for a ticket. Deal?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:28 AM

11:27 I wonder if anybody would actually reply to such a craigslist post

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:30 AM

I bet the ladies are just lining up for this guy

http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/tix/2618033137.html

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:30 AM

Every time Radiohead comes to NYC people declare it the "concert of the decade."

Just because you didnt yet live here the last time they played NYC (Theater at MSG) doesn't mean they never come.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:30 AM

i used my grandmother's credit card to get two tickets. does that mean i have to take her to the show?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:30 AM

http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/tix/2617952637.html

someone please take this lovely lady up on her offer and tell us how it goes.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:33 AM

I stole my au pair's CC so I could order tix. Does that mean that I have to go with her instead of bringing a date?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:33 AM

I don't care for the kind of people that like radiohead

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:38 AM

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:39 AM

11:30,

Agree. I also get annoyed when people don't count the APW west dates as NYC-area dates. It was ACROSS THE FUCKING RIVER and I preferred it so much more than going to MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:41 AM

someone please take this lovely lady up on her offer and tell us how it goes."

Dude, I did write to her cause I do have 1 extra. Wouldn't you know it. She is a beast. But if there are any really hot girls who want a ticket badly and don't mind getting fucked all night after the show and that includes in the butthole as well then leave your email and I will get in touch ASAP.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:41 AM

@11:41

and Kings of Fucking Leon where there!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:46 AM

what the... SHELLY?!??

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:48 AM

that girl is pretty cute.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:48 AM

Apparently Radiohead does not have cute girl fans.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:49 AM

11:41 - I'll tell you why All Points West doesn't count.. For one, they play a longer set when it's their show and not a festival gig. Secondly, even though it's across the river, it was still annoying to get there whether you took the ferry or drove and walked a mile to the site. Three, mud.
11:30 - Theatre at MSG is still too small for them. The last time they played their own show in the NYC area at a venue big enough for their demand was 2003 at MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:49 AM

"i used my grandmother's credit card to get two tickets. does that mean i have to take her to the show?"

Yes, Fool!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:50 AM

11:51 just got 2 for Wednesday

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:51 AM

11:49, Radiohead played a full set of tunes both nights. It was no different than a regular Radiohead gig. They were awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:51 AM

11:02 i am skeptical that they block on ip. everyone on the same router/connection (ex. entire offices) often shares the same external ip (they have different internal ips, but an external website could not see this). according to that logic only one person from each internet connection/office would be able to purchase a ticket at a time. seems not very efficient/robust.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:52 AM

She nasty yo straight up
I will however give cash money for 1 ticket, no funny business

I think that girl's kinda cute. I don't have Radiohead tickets but I'm gonna see if she wants to be my +1 for Jeff Mangum

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:59 AM

To rub it in your face that tix are totally sold out, there isn't even an option to search for them at Ticketmaster anymore.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:00 PM

11:51, I'm sure it was great. But I guess you didn't mind trekking through the muddy field or the annoying transportation to/from (either waiting a long time for the ferry going home, or walking a mile to the parking lot).

I think I would start Witten over Dez. Witten is healthy and going to have plenty of touches. Dez will be covered by Hall and is hobbled by the injury. Plus, if Romo starts, but can't finish, Kitna will rely on his TE.

Posted by Dan | September 26, 2011 12:42 PM

Roseland over T5 anyday. Both sound like shit, but Roseland has more personality and better exits. Leaving T5 is a death trap waiting to happen.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:42 PM

Everyone needs to relay...they said they will be touring in 2012. Most probably they will have a show in the tri-state area.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:44 PM

12:42 you can't be serious...Exiting Roseland is 10 times worse! T5 has two long cooridors which suck and are slow but roseland has one and you are siphoned trhough the stupid rail...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:51 PM

Bummed I didn't get tickets. Guess I'll just have to live with the memory of seeing them open for Belly at Roseland when I was in high school.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:54 PM

Just noticed that Ticketmaster only as Four Tet and rocketnumbernine listed as support. Anyone know what happened to the other two? Are they gone, playing with FT/#9, or just not listed for whatever reason?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:56 PM

^What other 2?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:57 PM

@12:44

relax, bro? everyone needs to FREAK THE FUCK OUT. world ending in 2k12. this the the last chance to see radiohead, ever.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 12:59 PM

Hope Radiohead plays the new arena in Brooklyn next year. Jay-Z is already confirmed to play there!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:02 PM

"no butt stuff"
ROTF

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:04 PM

Was hoping that I'd finally get to see Radiohead. Guess I'll have to suck it up and see them in that *awesome* MSG. I feel like throwing up.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:05 PM

Radiohead is gonna tour in 2012 as well, relax guys -______-

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:08 PM

@12:57 - Falty DL and Pearson Sound. I'm not familiar with these artists, so maybe this is a dumb question?

@1:23 That lonely female's name is Mark and that boy better be willing to work.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:37 PM

12:01,

It was great and really not that big of a deal to get to. Sorry you're a huge puss and can't perform small tasks like walking onto a ferry and standing in a little bud of a mud.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:39 PM

They're not even letting you search for tickets now. Smells like more tickets going up...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:42 PM

This will be better than Liberty State Park in 2001! Boy that sucked!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:44 PM

the nitrous mafia have just announced that they be be at both shows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:44 PM

If you're 23, you don't "live and breathe" Radiohead. You were 7 when The Bends came out and don't know shit. Relax a little.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:47 PM

MSG is MUCH better than Roseland. Roseland blows

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:51 PM

I was a baby when I got The Bends

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:53 PM

yeah, how many of you losers actually owned The Bends before all their other trash albums?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:55 PM

^ saw the bends tour at tramps, actually.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:58 PM

23, can ya prove it?
I was some snatch before I release my ticket.
No skank up front, no tickee for you young lady.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:59 PM

do you really think it is unlikely that people owned the bends before ok computer was released?

fake plastic trees was an extremely popular song

i also remember mtv constantly playing the high and dry video, which i hated

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:59 PM

"This will be better than Liberty State Park in 2001! Boy that sucked!"

i heard those shows were awesome

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 1:59 PM

I saw Radiohead warm up for U2.
They were meh then. As oppose to U2, who OWNED the world then. Maybe still do.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:00 PM

60 minute set, tops.
Worth $80? I'll let the historians decide.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:01 PM

60 minute set? are you on crack? since they aren't on a big tour, i wouldn't be surprised if the set was a little shorter than normal, but i'd bet at least 100 minutes, if not the full 2 hours.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:07 PM

i'm guessing it's partly this blog in particular, it's partly because radiohead is just so big, and partly because everyone's a critic.. but the folks who talk shit about radiohead have no idea what the fuck they are talking about. yeah, the bends was great. still is. so was hail to the thief. so was in rainbows. and so is king of limbs. each is different and unique, but this band puts out consistently higher quality albums than anyone else, and their live show is the best in the world. i'll be in line outside roseland as early as i can get there on wednesday, happily waiting in the rain to be closer to the stage to see the greatest band of our generation. and you'll still be a bunch of assholes writing useless comments on a blog.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:10 PM

I have an extra ticket and am looking for a good offer. Would anyone be willing to do my laundry for the next year?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:11 PM

Have an extra for wed. Any young ladies willing to eat some fresh cummus?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:15 PM

Are the tickets will call only? Thinking all these people trying to sell on Craig's are scammers.

Posted by RadioDREAD | September 26, 2011 2:16 PM

@ 2:10PM, tomorrow morning, when I wake up, I'll still be Lebron James

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:16 PM

2:07 - "Hey, maybe if we sing really loud, maybe we can stop this rain."

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:17 PM

Radiohead > Radiohead Fans...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:18 PM

I saw Radiohead at Jones Beach in 1996 opening for Alanis Morrisette, when they were still promoting The Bends. She gave them an hour long set, which I thought was pretty cool of her. (I'd say that this makes me cool, but I did see Alanis, which negates my coolness, I suppose :/ )

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:19 PM

2:16 well at least you didn't say Ron Artest, er, Mos Def, er ...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:19 PM

"Are the tickets will call only? Thinking all these people trying to sell on Craig's are scammers."

yes it is all will call. the people posting are most likely individuals that have two tickets and are only using one and will be walking in with whoever buys from them. or they are scammers.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:20 PM

people are funny who are big fans of the bends and nothing afterwards. it's like showing off you have poor taste and can only comprehend simple music.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:21 PM

1:39, what may be small tasks for you, are annoyances for other people who would rather not pay $80 only to be inconvenienced. BTW, waiting for a ferry for 45 minutes after going to a show = not a small task. More like a failed task.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:23 PM

Word to the wise...

get your blowjob BEFORE the show and not after.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:24 PM

cummus...teehee...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:25 PM

2:24 BUAHAHAHAH

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:25 PM

I just gave myself a blowjob and no fucking tix!!!

Total scam guys

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:27 PM

2:24, I would go with half before, and half after. That way everything is fair.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:29 PM

2:24 - hahahahaahha!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:30 PM

If they play the shit new album front to back....then I'm not bummed one bit about missing 90 mins in Roseland.

Coachella 2012!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:31 PM

2:00pm: yep, U2 is much better than Radiohead.

uh-huh. yes.

excuse me, i just puked on my hand. i tried to cover my mouth with my hand, but it just got all over my hand

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:38 PM

aren't we forgetting about Pocket Full of Kyptonite?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:41 PM

I think it's actually kinda nice to catch a show where they throw in Creep or Fake Plastic Trees once in a while. If that makes me uncool, oh well.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:41 PM

BLOW OUT should be played...they played that back in Japan in 2009! That would rule!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:42 PM

U2's shows are scripted. Bono's larger-than-life shtick has grown tiresome.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:42 PM

I put up a Craigslist Ad this morning to give away my extra to a hot chick. I took it down though cause all the girls responding were offering sex but they were either ugly or homely like the ones up above. Yo ladies, step your game up. This is RADIOHEAD. Probably the hottest ticket this year. You want this please come correct and be sexy and hot. Most of these girls responding I might be inclined to give my extra Mangum ticket along with sex but this is on a whole other level.
And be prepared to take it in the shitter and get blasted in the face.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:44 PM

2:21 yeah screw those people for liking "songs" with "melodies"... what primitives!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:48 PM

2:44 With an offer like that, I can't see how anyone would resist.
Not for nothing, but "hot chicks" have tickets handed to them on silver platters, along with free drinks, green-room access, VIP viewing area, etc.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:48 PM

2:48 Yeah I guess you are right about that. Oh well I guess I will just sell my extra for like 1500. Sucks to be me.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:50 PM

2:23,

As opposed to those people who, say, take the train into Manhattan to go to a show at MSG/Roseland, etc.. I was so happy they did that so I could walk as close to the stage as opposed to having to jocky for seats with all the other corporate dick-heads with boxes at MSG.

I will say that the ferry the first year @ APW sucked but they got their shit together the 2nd year. Either way, still worth it to see Radiohead in a general admission set-up.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:52 PM

The artistic merit of any given album is in direct inverse proportion to the amount of marketing and number of remixes it receives. Think about it, kids.

Posted by Dr Schlepp | September 26, 2011 2:55 PM

2:55, not sure I agree. Capitol marketed the crap out of OK Computer and The Bends, and both were brilliant.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 2:58 PM

yeah but four tet's mom's cousin didn't do 5 eps of remixes on those albums.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:17 PM

comments held for moderation.. was it the reference to a bj or to pocketful of kryptonite that got me flagged? poor, bv, poor.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:27 PM

2:48,

Very true which is really annoying. My favorite "hot chick" is the one who blossomed in college or later. That way, she's humble and hasn't had a whole lifetime of people bending over backwards for her.

That being said, I have enough friends who got shut out that I'd give my ticket to besides some idiot girl who is going to this and Dave Matthews and that's it all year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:27 PM

All the unlucky ones who did not get tickets sould form a flash army on wendsday outside roseland and block off the streets and sing "creep" That shit would be funny as hell! Lol

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:29 PM

I only go to shows that I can walk 5 minutes to attend. And no bridges or tunnels.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:45 PM

via the 'list:

"Lovely girlfriend of mine got plane tickets and a hotel to come to NYC from Chicago to see radiohead... Alas, those ticket brokers are quick; snatched up all the tix to the Thursday show. Anyone out there willing to sell me a pair for Thursday for a reasonable amount so a couple die-hard fans can make it to the show? Please shoot me an email if you can help out. Thanks!"

People bought tickets to fly out to New York before securing tickets to the show?! What is this I don't even

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 3:55 PM

I hate when bands don't play their most popular hit song. What are they, too cool for us? You gotta give the people what they want. Radiohead not playing "Creep" is like Sp Dr.s not playing "Two Princes." Total rip-off.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:04 PM

ice age coming...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:14 PM

They actually still play Creep once in a blue moon. But not often. When it happens, it's like finding the golden ticket in your chocolate bar wrapping.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:20 PM

Yay, I'm going! I hope they do "This Is How You Remind Me" or that "Hero" song from the Spiderman movie.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:22 PM

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:27 PM

why do people still get all worked up about creep? are you dull?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:37 PM

4:37, are you dead inside? Let people be happy about something. Geez.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 4:38 PM

5:51 was obviously in a coma when LCD broke BV earlier this year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:14 PM

Just got this from TM:

"If the cardholder is not able to pick up the tickets on the day of the show and attend the event, please reply to this email no later than 10 p.m. ET tonight so we can process a full cancellation and refund for you."

Sucks to be that woman who bought with husband's credit card.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:22 PM

MORE TICKETS!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:26 PM

Fuck, bought two tickets for Wednesday and only can sell one for $1000. Nothing I love more than walking out of the venue 2 minutes after walking in. Couldn't pay me enough to sit through this shit (no, the $1000 is just enough to walk in, not sit through this crap).

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 6:26 PM

...so more tickets will be released after 10 p.m.?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 8:13 PM

a non-trivial number of people thought they had actual purchases of tickets today but their purchases got canceled when their visa cards were not properly "verified."

these people were all very upset. ticketmaster put them on a waiting list for tickets.

any cancelled orders will be going towards these people first.

doubt there will be any additional tickets released beyond that waiting list, but don't know anything beyond the above.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 8:23 PM

waiting list my ass

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:00 PM

i like turtles

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:10 PM

haha called up ticketmaster no waiting list good try

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 9:25 PM

In other words, TM fucked up and now, to make up for it, unspecified 2nd onsale for tickets that should never have been sold or that were stuck in the system when it crashed on people. Fun times, indeed!

Posted by Doc | September 26, 2011 9:44 PM

9:25, 823 here - wasn't trying to throw anyone off or anything - i know it is not technically a "waiting list" - they are just going through this "list" of people they *especially* fuct over and trying to remedy that...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:37 PM

So... what's happening?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 10:38 PM

@10:51 Yeah, except I feel like that HuffPo article is making up a story where there isn't one. This is nothing like the reaction LCD Soundsystem. Here, plenty of people got tickets to what was clearly going to be two almost-impossible shows. There, it seemed no one got tickets to a show that, let's face it, shouldn't have been near as hard. I don't think most people who got shut out this time are in fact furious at Ticketmaster or the system. HuffPo is looking for a controversy where, this time, there isn't one.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2011 11:01 PM

what about the sovereign debt crisis?

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 12:21 AM

i dunno, what about it?

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 5:02 AM

YES!!!! I ended up getting a totally of 47 tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 6:19 AM

6:30 doors
7:00 1st act takes the stage
7:30 end of 1st set, breakdown
8:00 Rocketnumbernine takes the stage
8:30 end of Rocketnumbernine set, breakdown
9:00 Fourtet takes the stage
9:30 end of Fourtet set, breakdown
10:00 Radiohead takes the stage
10:45 end of Radiohead main set
10:50 Radiohead encore (2 songs)
11:00 house lights up, 45 minute wait to exit through the one set of doors

yup, sounds about right. Except, oh yeah, there are actually 4 warm up acts, right?

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 8:00 AM

radiohead will play 90 minutes minimum (only i won't be there to hear it)

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 8:17 AM

the later radiohead goes on, the better, will hopefully weed out the weak and tired

i'm guessing rh will not play earlier than 10 and will be done by midnight or so

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 8:19 AM

"radiohead will play 90 minutes minimum"

based on what? sorry Shirley but "your word" or "your experience" means about as much as a peasant's bowl of warm elephant piss.

no, logic screams that you know nothing of what you talk. so, wish away, but don't be surprised when the set is a good deal shorter than that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 8:47 AM

wtf with the people on this board defending ticketmaster and bashing radiohead? does it make you happy to be completely ass backwards?

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 8:51 AM

1hr 45 minimum..Seen Radiohead a few times and that is the shortest set I have seen them play

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 8:56 AM

looks like they killed on colbert last night

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:21 AM

8:51 - I am no fan of TicketMaster, but I'll be objective. If there are potentially 60,000 people or more trying to get access to 6,000 tickets (of which probably only half are available via TicketMaster), how is that TM's fault? If this were 3 shows at MSG and the same thing happened, then I'd place more blame on TM. But Radiohead booked their shows in a small venue, so of course the majority of folks are going to get shut out.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:24 AM

To add to what I was saying in 8:51... there's a great book about how effed up the ticketing industry is. If you really want to know why things are the way they are, read 'Ticket Masters - The Rise of the Concert Indstry and How the Public Got Scalped' by Dean Budnick and Josh Baron

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:29 AM

it's not just that people got shut out. it's that the SYSTEM CRASHED on a LOT of people. first the tickets weren't up at 10AM, then they were up and the wait was 15 minutes for some people before getting kicked off, while a lot of others had tickets in their cart and got kicked out at the stupid "verified by visa" step. then, at 10:05, they looked sold out, then they seemed to be up again until almost noon, but still no one could get them (except apparently opie and anthony at ten minutes to noon). yeah, that's EXACTLY how an online ticket sale should look from the single largest ticket seller in the world.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:30 AM

11:01,

Totally agree. That Huffington Post hits on nothing new and seems to be AMAZED that a lot of people were shut out due to high demand.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 9:44 AM

The LCD story was a much bigger deal, and even that really wasn't TicketMaster's fault either; that was Bowery Presents fault. Bowery were the ones who held back 80% of the house from public sale.
As for the Radiohead issue, TicketMaster is not without it's clunkiness at times, but the bigger picture here in this instance is one of demand outweighing supply.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 10:00 AM

Also, it's not fair that they have a LiveNation app that's only available on Apple smartphones/devices, which provides an unfair advantage because users do not have to enter the Captcha code. For that, I blame TicketMaster.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 10:29 AM

Or you could have paid attention and seen that the waste fanclub put more tickets on sale this morning. Hello, 2 more tickets for me!!!

Posted by Snooze you lose | September 27, 2011 10:41 AM

I heard Brooklyn Vegan is a communist and hates the S P I N D O C T O R S. An unforgivable combination.

Joe Stalin here, communicating to you from my mausoleum in Red Square Moscow. Brooklyn Vegan has joined us. She was heavily inspired by communist hate of all things S p i n D o c t o r s. Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 1:33 PM

What's the big deal? I got two tickets for Thursday night and I don't even know their music, I think I'm gonna sell the ticket for face value + $20 on craigs list, I hope I don't get stuck having to go to the show...

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 1:42 PM

^ I'll take them. If you're not some troll that is.

I think BV just likes to remove lameness from his blog whenever he can, which is why he has started blocking Sp1n D0cs comments.

More discussion about Spyn Doctirs and PFOK? I hope so!

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 3:59 PM

I work in office building next to Roseland. People are already lining up for Radiohead tomorrow night.

Posted by Office Drone | September 27, 2011 4:34 PM

Some dude on Craigslist says he's in line without a ticket, so he'll let you cut if you sell a ticket to him. Genius!

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 6:03 PM

6:03 I'm going to respond to his ad, tell him I'll give him a ticket, and meet him there tomorrow night. Once they start letting people in, I'll walk up to will-call, at which point he will realize that I only have one ticket under my name. Then I'll tell security to kick him out because he doesn't have a ticket. I'll get front row for free. That man is no genius.

@648 hhahahahahahahahha holy shit you're an asshole

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2011 6:50 PM

i mean, how many scalpers are there really?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:25 AM

Why doesn't Radiohead fuck with these scalpers instead of condoning buying scalped tickets in that update? "For those of you who have to pay over the face value of the ticket"?? Nobody 'has' to buy any ticket illegally, this is screwed logic at best.

The band could 1) attempt to buy scalped tickets to get seller info and cancel orders or 2) ADD ANOTHER SHOW to combat this situation but I suppose they're above that.

In case this is a revelation to anybody - James Murphy did both those things. Remember how much shit we gave him? He literally emailed scalpers on craigslist.

@228 This is a cash grab while they're in town. Is everyone over not going yet?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 8:21 AM

@2:28 They'd have to add like 10 shows to even begin solve the problem.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 8:43 AM

i hate to break it to you, but rh doesn't need a "cash grab"

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 8:52 AM

guess they're not releasing more tix... i've had my browsers on 15s auto-refresh since monday at 11am waiting for TM to put up the cancelled/unreleased tix, not happening.

It's nice to know that Frohawk tweeted an update about the line situation outside Roseland.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 11:59 AM

Here's the line so far. Probably rounding the corner already:

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:02 PM

Someone tweeted that they were letting in folks who did the presale at 6, half an hour before Ticketmaster buyers.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:12 PM

really don't care about the line. i have tickets, i'm not gonna not get in. i don't need to have thom yorke's sweat dripping on my face.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:16 PM

What Radiohead didn't quite get is that regular non-scalper people are sickenly greedy. $800 to $2000 on craigslist, and that's not the scalpers.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:29 PM

8:52 - They don't "need" to do a cash grab, but they're doing it anyway. They were in town for appearances, why not offset the cost? Music is big business.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:33 PM

To add to 12:33.. if this wasn't a cash grab, they would have charged less money for the tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:35 PM

why would they charge less money? people gladly paid 80$ for tickets...and there are others on CL that would gladly pay 100 - 800$.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:37 PM

Tickets were $65....ticketmaster is the greedy ones who are providing little and charging $15 a ticket!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:45 PM

I have a feeling these shows are very oversold and it will be very crowded on the floor, more so then normal.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:46 PM

12:37, because if it weren't about a cash grab, and they were doing it because they looove performing, they would charge just enough to cover the costs.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:46 PM

They need the money for the ox-cars to transport all their equipment. It isn't cheap to feed Ox!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:49 PM

ox-cars...nice.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:49 PM

$65 * 3200 *2 is 416k gross. Sounds like a pretty shitty cashgrab to me.

Amount of free publicity they've had over the last week though is priceless.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:53 PM

Thom Yorke's a Biscuit Head! A big old Biscuit Head!

Posted by Laraby | September 28, 2011 12:55 PM

$200k a night doesn't sound too crappy to me. Sure they could have charged more, but they charged just enough so that they wouldn't be viewed as greedy. And they underplayed the demand, just to maintain the hype factor. They want people to get shut out, so that an otherwise lackluster sales performance of King of Limbs gets more press and hopefully more record sales.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 12:59 PM

Venue makes money, promoter makes money, have to pay for extra cops, openers make money. They probably clear 100K a night...divided by 6 with Clive...nothing to sneeze over but not as crazy as one may think!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:07 PM

Plus they got to pay ticketmaster and taxes. Lets also assume they need to buy an extra or two on craigs list to get their spouses/firends in then they are left with $100! :p

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:09 PM

box office just confirmed "openers" at 9, rh from 10-12. i will be shocked if the openers don't start until 9, as that's a long time for the psycho fans to be standing around listening to the house music and waiting. i will also be surprised if rh actually starts by 10, prolly more like 10:30.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:10 PM

Whoa is that true about not starting till 9? I was going to get there at 6 since i had tickets from the presale and we get in before everyone else. Fuck that now. I guess it is just gonna be a nice push and shove job up close around 8.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:24 PM

i dont have tickets. i wish i had tickets. but regardless...this sounds like it's going to be a disaster.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:25 PM

I saw Biscuit Head at Think Coffee this morning! It was him!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:29 PM

Show doesn't start until 9? No effing way. Are we sure about that?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:40 PM

i heard that they had a 7pm reservation at nobu...9pm sounds right.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:43 PM

you can call the irving plaza box office and ask again, but that's what i was told

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 1:56 PM

1:43 - You are too cool, because you know when their Nobu reservation is. I want to be your friend.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2011 3:10 PM

I like the tickets
