Plastikmen

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Plastikman 1.5 live show will not be able to proceed tonight as originally planned.

Electric Zoo will now be presenting a special one hour Richie Hawtin DJ set with the Ali Demiral LED visuals show. This will take place at 10pm-11pm in the Hilltop Arena - the same arena where Plastikman would have performed.

From Richie Hawtin, "Plastikman Live is a technically challenging show that has appeared successfully in over a dozen countries over the past year. The shows systems are well-tested but rely on specific requirements from the festivals where we perform. Without full compliance of these requirements we can find ourselves in a frustrating situation. My production team has been on site in NYC since Tuesday working alongside the Electric Zoo production team preparing for this show, and they have done everything within their powers to address the challenges that have been presented at the event. Sadly it has not worked out and we regret to announce that Plastikman will not perform in New York this weekend. We are excited, in light of the situation, that we are able to present this LED visual show similar to the shows that we present at other festivals around the world".

Richie Hawtin will also still headline the Sunday School Grove on Sunday at Electric Zoo.

Damn (thx Hiro).

that sucks a unique thing to miss out on even though most of the kiddies were at probably tiesto anyways but two sets of richie hawtin at electric zoo is pretty cool, plenty of talent this year at the festival but its on the wrong stage! new york needs a smaller festival that can be taken seriously and not have most of the ticket prices going to pay for substanceless "superstars" made event could have done that but hey a dollar is a dollar at the end of the day right?

RH was not good last night. Simple as that.

Electric Zoo (love it or hate it) was run incredibly well yesterday. The people weren't offensive (Ultra has turned into complete shit because of the shit crowds) and the vibe was top notch.

It's just a geeky dude with a drum machine and some lights... how is it that they can't pull that off?

Besides Carl Cox the whole day was garbage. The reason the big UK dance festivals are great is because of variety. When every room sounds like Afrojack or Rusko it gets real boring real fast. On top of that the production manager should be embarrassed, not only could he not get the Plastikman rider correct, the sound was cutting out in the Red Bull tent on and off, and the visuals were going out in the Carl Cox tent all day. Once again Made events have shown they truly don't care about the end experience just having the names on the flyer and the cash in there pockets.

I don't get it. What specifically was the production problem? No pyro permit? Lost hard drive? What?
