Beyond this Place

BAM WRITES:

Beyond This Place

Part of BAM 150

Directed by Kaleo La Belle
Music composition by Raymond Raposa and Sufjan Stevens

Sun, Oct 30, 2011 at 7:30pm

As part of BAM's 150th anniversary celebrations, filmmaker Kaleo La Belle--joined by childhood friend Sufjan Stevens (The BQE, 2007 Next Wave; TAKEOVER 2008) and singer-songwriter Raymond Raposa--comes to the opera house for a screening of his award-winning documentary Beyond This Place.

Deeply reflective and personal, La Belle's breakout film charts his attempts to reconnect with his perpetually stoned, long-estranged father Cloud Rock during a grueling 500-mile bike tour across the Pacific Northwest. Stevens and Raposa share the stage as special musical guests, providing a live soundtrack to this emotionally nuanced look at family ties and the process of moving on.

BAM Howard Gilman Opera House

$25 tickets to the Brooklyn show are currently on sale for BAM members and go on sale to the general public on 9/19. There will be similar events in Portland and LA.

That guy could make a ham sandwich on stage, charge $25 and I would still pay to see it.

^You're an idiot! I wouldn't do that for a ham sandwich...Turkey...well maybe then we are talking!

Why is isn't it mentioned that Ray Raposa is the Castanets?

2:17: Plus they'll all be blowing anorexic drug addicts for their coke too. Don't forget that.
