Why don't I have an AmEx when I need one?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 10:50 AM

I was going to zzzzzz.........

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 10:53 AM

Only Loge and Balcony tickets available? F that. Waiting until regular sale.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:01 AM

damn... shitty presale. scalpers must've really jumped on these.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:06 AM

Pulled 4 loge but let them go. HOpefully I wont regret that decision on Friday.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:10 AM

Is it common for there to be AMEX presales where no orchestra seats are available? Or are we just all SOL?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:16 AM

odd presale. bought loge just in case. oh well.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:17 AM

Seems like the best Orchestra seats still available are rows Q and up.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:17 AM

No..presales sell the crappy seats first so everyonee thinks there is high demand....people get nervous and pull the trigger when all they see if back orch and loge. Then the normal sale comes around an viola decent seats in the orchestra are a pleanty. Best is to wait a few minutes after the onslae starts and the traffic dies down. Reason being when everyone buys at the top of the hour the bots keep pushing out your request to an area that doesn't have demand thus you get a bad pull right after the hour. ONce the dust settles tm plugs the empty seats closest to the stage first. Seems to happen oftent at the beacon with presales, etc.

Can anyone confirm what 11:24 said?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:30 AM

^hey look try it yourself (I have a bunch of times)..try the general onsale if the tickets are good in the first pull buy em. Even if you buythem there...check back later 10 min, 20 min then an hour or so later...see what happens!

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:33 AM

Even better is when you randomly search for tickets to sold out events on Ticketmaster closer to the day of the show and pull even better tickets than the ones you settled for at the initial onsale.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:36 AM

The 10/20 min later part makes sense. But has anyone found much better seats pop up during the general onsale after the AMEX presale seats were only okay?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:37 AM

@1130am. I think you remember LCD @ MSG fiasco....

1) pitchfork presale, you could pull 300s and 400s
2) regular sale, all gone
3) good luck:)

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:37 AM

11:37, if you so desperately want to see the show, buy whatever tickets you can pull. If you find better tickets later you can go ahead and get all mad at the internet or whatever.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:39 AM

@1137am: Exactly what I'm worried about

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:40 AM

11:37, you forgot step 4.

4) announce more seats going on sale because you "moved stuff around"
5) pull GA week of show

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:41 AM

Just got Row C Orchestra bitches!!! 6, dead center.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:44 AM

which night, 11:44?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 11:45 AM

@1141 lol yea well stuff won't get moved around at Beacon hence why I didn't mention that party hahahah

Posted by 1137 | September 14, 2011 11:54 AM

11:37..for LCD at MSG presale I pulled 300's...reg sale nothing...week before the show Sec 73 thus best seats came closest to the show!

MEHlligator

Tickets for 'sold-out' shows at the Beacon always reappear on Ticketmaster as the show approaches, and good ones too. Whatsmore, four shows three months from now...they'll be plenty of tickets at face on CL. So I wouldn't get too frantic over this now.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:02 PM

"viola decent seats"

hehe

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:02 PM

I can't think of single show this year that I wasn't able to get face value or less tickets for the day of.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:04 PM

^LCD at MSG?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:13 PM

^Tuneyards at MHOW was the only show I couldn't score tix at face day of show this year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:17 PM

i had to pay higher than face for lcd at msg outside of msg day of. worth it tho. that is the only time ive had to pay more than face ever. the best was seeing pavement for 12 dollars on a friday in central park last year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:25 PM

MODERN WEEPERS!

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:26 PM

You'll be paying more than face for Radiohead @ Roseland on 27th/28th......

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:29 PM

^atoms for peace even went way above face

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:39 PM

you people just saw The National at Radio City. Why do you need to see them again?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 12:50 PM

11:54, nothing really got "moved around" at the LCD show either. The only things that got moved around, ware the tickets that were held by Bowery were moved from the scalping pile to the general public Ticketmaster pile.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2011 2:28 PM
