The time has come to ban the West Indian Day, Puerto Rican Day, and Dominican Day parades. If people don't know how to have a good time without shooting innocent people on their stoops or raping women or the like, they should not be allowed the privilege of having a parade.

^ interesting. or, maybe it should be ... every year there is shooting, the following year no parade. if they have a peaceful parade, they can have one the next year.
or, we can force them to listen to diamond ring and read brooklyn vegan comments.

Umphrey's McGee might be the dumbest fucking band name of all time.
Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2011 3:33 PM
^ I don't know about dumbest, but it's definitely up there. Try topping the Bouncing Souls. Ugh.

it is definitely worse than the bouncing souls. By the way, this is only a commentary on their name, and not their music, which I can't say I've heard. They could be awesome for all I know, but right off the bat, I'd say their judgement is suspect.

My god. regrets. should have gone to see Les Sav Fav, but ended up in Hoboken for DiamondRings/TwinShadow.* While DR brought solid energy to a distant crowd - who he deafened into attention - Twin Shadow abso sucked. Their drummer was on some sorta speed b/c he was playing faster than the keyboardist - who sped up and was playing faster than the guitarist, and so on. every song sounded like a disjointed cover of a Twin Shadow song - which is sad b/c every Twin Shadow song sounds like a cover of The Smiths and beyond.
Im sure LSF rocked it and Ill have to check out some utubes.
at least i got to catch them at Bowery a while back.
*there was an exodus during the Twin Shadow set. could have shared cabs.
