« I'll Be Your Mirror 2011 -- pics from ATP Sunday (Public Enemy, Company Flow, Thee Silver Mt. Zion, Deerhoof, Earth & more) | It's A Shame about the Lemonheads... (Bowery Ballroom show reportedly a disaster) »

I won't give any spoilers for those who haven't watched it yet, but that was a sweet use of Apparat's "Goodbye" in Sunday night's Breakng Bad Season 4 finale (the episode that was appropriately titled "face off"). The song comes from Apparat's new album The Devil's Walk which was released on 9/27 via Mute. The album's inspiration/theme is also fitting for for the meth-fueled AMC show and the big scene the song was part of. As NPR points out:
Many electronic musicians cross over into mainstream pop and rock, but Sascha Ring -- a.k.a. Apparat -- crafts his own unique style of somber yet majestic music. With his latest record, the German producer may find himself reaching a broader audience than ever. The Devil's Walk, Apparat's fourth album, creates a soundscape that's subtle and melancholy, yet also uplifting and cinematic.Apparat is currently touring Europe. You can listen to the song and view all tour dates, below...The Devil's Walk, out Sept. 27, began during a lengthy trip Apparat took in 2010 to Mexico, where he worked in a makeshift studio in the town of Sayulita. The album became fully realized later in recording studios located in Europe. The cross-continental journey and combination of cultures helped to define and inspire the right blend of cold electronics with warm strings and keys, along with a dreamlike vocal that drifts in throughout.

BB has some of the coolest music scenes on TV. Not to mention it's also the best show on TV, possibly ever

i wouldn't say BB is better than LOST per se... but it is equally as significant and amazing.
i guess we see walt die next (final) season.

Breaking Bad, even without seeing the entire end game yet, is a bazillion times better than Lost. And I LOVED that shit for a long time. Lost was bloated and messy and poorly written and ran (show-runner verbage?)
BB is nearly flawless.

I LOVE Lost but BB is so much better than any other TV show and yes BB > The Wire, BB > than Sopranos. And thanks for this post I was wondering what track they used. Very fitting.

breaking bad is a tightly written show without any weak episodes. at the end, lost was a mess where the writers were pulling storylines out of their ass.

last night's finale was intended as possible series finale in case negotiations for a fifth season didn't work out. i really and truly don't know how they are going to do a fifth season after this but i trust them. still reeling from last night. yes, my life is that boring.

I don't really know this show Breaking Bad, but I know a lot about breaking in Food Processors. (they really don't work well until the fourth or fifth batch)

Breaking Bad is great, but The Wire was mind-blowing, jaw dropping, ridiculously awesome. Nothing will ever touch it. EVER.
