Arctic Monkeys playing Music Hall of Williamsburg

Remember how I was saying that one of the shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg during CMJ was not part of CMJ? It has now been announced:

Arctic Monkeys are pleased to announce a special registered members show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York on Wednesday 19th October 2011.
U.S. fans on the band's mailing list should keep an eye on their inbox for ticketing information.
This show is limited to 500 fans.
Tickets are already on Ticketmaster, but require a password.

The Smith Westerns open the show like they are currently doing on the rest of the tour.

I got the e-mail for this. tickets went onsale at 10am. I chose not to buy. No one told me Smith Westerns were opening. fuck my lack of knowledge.

Why can't bands announce shows anymore in advance? What is with this bullshit of telling people 5 minutes before they go on sale and requiring a password? (It took 4 hours for the email server to send me the 'heads up', so it was way sold out already by then)
First, the fucking scalpers get all the RH tickets 3 days before they go on sale, and put them on ebay for $1,000. Now I will miss A/M. I can't even get to a gdamn concert anymore.
