Deer Tick

As previously mentioned, the venue asks that nobody lineup before 8pm to help avoid any police action of our own.

In related news, a NY Times reporter was among those arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday.

is this really happening or is this another radiohead publicity stunt?

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 11:49 AM

If Deer Tick are the band we're using to raise awareness, I'm siding with the cops.

NY Times reporter's eyewitness account:
"The Internet was filled with pointed suggestions that officers from the New York Police Department led protesters onto the road as a trap to perform mass arrests; indeed, some video footage seems to show officers leading protesters onto the “illegal” section of the bridge. From what I saw, however, a couple of dozen marchers made the decision to move off the sidewalk into the road at the bridge’s entrance to chants of “off the sidewalks, into the streets. This breakaway group quickly gained support of surrounding marchers, numbers of whom jumped over barricades on the sidewalk’s edge to stream into the road, until hundreds of people eventually covered the passageway usually intended for a steady flow of traffic. ‘Whose bridge? Our bridge!’ the marchers chanted as they walked onto the Brooklyn Bridge."

I will not support selfish privileged assholes trying to provoke a response. It really cheapens the public perception when real malfeasance is committed.

These children protestors ought to be shamed by us, not embraced.

^^^ re: "Children protestors"-- from the same NY Times article:

" The march had been kettled with orange mesh netting. A few feet away from me, I saw two young children, no older than 8, clinging to their mother."

Literally... Children protestors.

^ no. not "literally" children. what you meant to say was, actually children. it's probably one of the most common mistakes in the every day english language for people to write/say "literally" when they really should be saying "actually". it's kinda like when ass munches here write 60's. fuckers. it's '60s! anyway. to say literally means you're speaking of something written. as in, a book. and no, that doesn't mean it comes into play there because you were speaking about an article from the times. nice try, jerk.

so from now on ... maybe pass on spending your morning reading about the latest fixins available for your billyburger and concentrate on mastering the english language. or, go move somewhere and learn a new one as you clearly need to work on this one.

^^ Thanks for being today's total fuckwad, 12:17!
You Lose!

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 12:21 PM

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 12:22 PM

Wow 12:00 that is amazing.

The New York Times actually reporting a story without laughable bias.

I think that I can die in peace now.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 12:30 PM

12:17 needs to be punched in the face.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 12:37 PM

To 12:17 haters, he may be pedantic but he's right.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 12:45 PM

NYPD are just following the "if you see something, spray something" campaign.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 12:46 PM

12:17 = 12:45
No one likes a know it all, Myron. Go find somewhere else to work out your OCD issues.

anyone who feels a need to correct someone's spelling or grammar on a music blog site really didn't get his ass kicked enough as a youngin'

"The New York Times actually reporting a story without laughable bias."

Meh. The pinko tantrums reflect poorly on Baracky, so I wouldn't be so quick to attribute it to a spasm of honesty from the Times. They are dishonest lefties, but they're dishonest establishment whore lefties.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 1:11 PM

How does using the word "literally" incorrectly make someone a jerk? Furthermore, correcting someone's grammer, when everyone knew what 12:11 meant, is kind of a jerk move. Why so angry, friend?

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 1:13 PM

I literally don't give a fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 1:15 PM

Kudos Deer Tick. I really respect this band bcause they are 100% genuine ... dude says what he wants and does what he wants without comprimise. No frills or fads .. that's why they are still around.

Posted by Burg | October 3, 2011 1:33 PM

radiohead is playing a surprise set at dba tonight after fallon.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 1:37 PM

Is radiohead playing Dba tonight?

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 1:55 PM

This is actually happening! Doors are at 8, show should start 9ish. This will be peaceful provided people don't hang out front and piss off the fancy condos across the street!

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 2:35 PM

Posted by Mike | October 3, 2011 3:01 PM

how will this possibly raise awareness? what, amongst the 200 people who will be there and already know?

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 3:01 PM

Way too tired to get into it now. You can look it up for yourselves on the interwebz. !2:17 is actually and absolutely WRONG. Idiot probably studied English at CCNY.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 3:25 PM

I'm overeducated and underemployed. My persona is that of blithe disregard for those around me. I find it very cool.

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 3:36 PM

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 10:54 PM

This is the most self-indulgent bullshit I've ever seen.

KIDS! Don't take the subway to this show! Death By Audio hates the MTA! Fuck em!

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2011 10:55 PM

I'm never going to another show at DBA or by Deer Tick.

If both sets of these hapless assholes can't see the banality and utter lack of vision for these douchebags (that should have been tazered and beaten instead of pepper sprayed, just for being fucking wiseguys) then they don't deserve my money, which I work really hard for and don't feel others are entitled to.

I don't understand why people are hating on a band that is playing for free~does the movement have a dogmatic blueprint? or are some people just boring corny wannabe activist~it's fucking free! stop contradicking yourselves~not every band that supports this movement has to be singing protest songs which in the end is fucking cliche propaganda bullshit~let people be raw and real with who they are~they are not puppets of the music industry~independent music~fucking dumb haters
