Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Maxwell's show cancelled, new album still underway though

"Everywhere we go, people ask us, When will the Blues Explosion record a new album? And while I respect that spirit, and we are flattered and feel the passion of our fans, the reason to make a new record has to reside inside the Blues Explosion. And a show at the world-famous Maxwell's club in Hoboken New Jersey is a perfect opportunity to perform some new material before taking it into the recording studio." - Jon Spencer
Nothing serious, but Russell Simins is sick, and so Thursday night's Jon Spencer Blues Explosion show at Maxwell's is unfortunately cancelled. Rescheduled date TBA ANNOUNCED. Feel better Russell. Stay tuned for more info on that new album.

7:30, Maxwell's does not reschedule shows because of poor sales. And anyway, it was sold out in advance.

Did you not see the part about rescheduling?

was bummed that the show was cancelled but relived that is not "refunds at point of purchase' and another date will be posted. It will be worth the wait.. and those that 'know' will be there.

Attn: genius of 10:24, If a show has poor sales, they don't reschedule. They can either proceed forward or just cancel. That way the losses are minimal. Why would a promoter dump additional advertising money to promote the new date for a show that has no draw already? Makes no sense.

Hello it has been done before...maybe show falls on same night as other big ticket shows/events/holidays etc...SD tonight...everyone will probably be at that show!
