You can actually still donate if you want, but the official Kickstarter end-time was about two hours ago and "The Punk Singer: The Documentary about Kathleen Hanna" is already almost $20,000 over its original goal. Congrats to them and time to celebrate at Death By Audio tonight (10/27). Flyer above. More details (which include EX-TITUS Andronicus member Amy Klein), below...

REVOLUTION LADY STYLE NOW!

Permanent Wave is a feminist group that knows women are more than groupies and merch girls. We value art from female, trans, and LGBTQ people that challenges the norm. We believe that women should see other women as collaborators and inspirations, not rivals. We want to rip the band-aid off the halted conversations and change the way women are treated.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 1:24 PM

i was going to go to this show, but the landlord looked at me and said 'no way'

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 1:28 PM

That mission statement/description from Permanent Wave is priceless. What a bunch of silly-headed tripe. Go back to the student union at Bard or Sarah Lawrence or whereever and self-appreciate your privileged upperclass life.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 1:30 PM

via Amy's tumblr

“Dancing the Dark?” Wait? THAT was Bruce Springsteen too? I had always assumed it was by someone like Billy Joel"

Jesus Christ

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 1:31 PM

Amy Klien is the poor man's Kickball Katy Goodman

Kathlenn Hanna is the poor man's Caroline Polachek

Oh you bitter Brooklyn Vegans.... yr contemptuous comments are only going to make us rock harder. Don't you know?? It's OUR dance floor.

Posted by Joey | October 27, 2011 3:19 PM

Don't care if you rock harder cuz i won't be there

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 3:32 PM

hey 3:32 - reading, ur doin it rong

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 4:10 PM

It's not bitterness. That mission statement really is asinine. If that's feminism, I need to start a splinter group.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 4:25 PM

This would be a perfect event if there was candy.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 5:17 PM

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 5:17 PM

Oh, duh, there's a bake sale!

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 5:18 PM

Is hummus considered a baked good? If so... I will think about attending.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 5:24 PM

Maybe if there are baked pita chips involved? :)

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 5:48 PM

That Dog? Seriously?

Which band will next have a tribute to them? 2 Skinnee Js?

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 6:29 PM

@4:25 p.m. Please start a splinter group! Then we can have a dance off!

EULA COVERING BLONDIE !!! FUCK YES !!!

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 6:46 PM

some springsteen stuff from 'greetings from asbury park' is actually pretty good.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 9:00 PM

Born to Run was a pretty great album. No interest in ever listening to it again, but I'm not gonna diss it just because my taste in music changed drastically.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 9:27 PM

what time does springsteen go on?

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2011 9:45 PM

Who the fuck would care about seeing covers of Le Tigre and That Dog?

Posted by Anonymous | October 28, 2011 12:57 PM

Well, I didn't make it to this and I'm not sure what I'll be doing the rest of the weekend but I know that whatever I do I will be bringing my cock and my balls along with me. You see, having an actual set that I've had since birth, they kind of come along everywhere I go. You see, that's how it works - you accept what you have and don't try to overcompensate for not having something that you feel that you should have. Like, take these female humans for instance. Girls, it's OK - you don't need to try to act as if you had a cock and balls, it's OK who you are, we think you are great. So, rock out and leave the cocks and the balls to us guys. And a little lipstick now and then goes a long way. Thank you.

I do not know why you're so critical of this band. Personally, I like maximum!

Posted by Eminem Quotes | December 7, 2011 6:42 AM

That sucks. One of the best shows i'd ever been to was at the yard - todd p's mid-summer show of two years ago (Titus, Vivian girls, ponytail, Oneida, high places, Abe Vigoda, and literally a ton of other bands). Was a really great space. Will definitely be missed.

Posted by Winnie The Pooh Quotes | December 18, 2011 1:25 PM

If you watched more than 5 minutes of Four Tet you'd know it wasn't "knob turning". He wasn't pushing play and jumping around like a moron (looking at you John Maus). Of course, people are going to react initially to someone moving around on stage but after further inspection it's the MUSIC that matters, right?
