Posted by Beef | October 18, 2011 11:05 AM

stone roses are great, despite the lack of material. most music fans will be very happy to hear of this news.

also it's great how the stone roses never really caught on in the US (same with ian brown for that matter). that guarantees that they'll be playing a GA venue.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:06 AM

^I can see them doing Beacon 3 nights???

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:08 AM

Beef..."She bangs the Drum"??

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:10 AM

Wow! Great news! Don't hate, these will be be awesome shows!

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:12 AM

Not as good as the Smiths.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:17 AM

@11:08 - Nah. T5 or Hammerstein mutiple nights, or one night at Radio City or Theater at MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:17 AM

..or if Bowery promotes it, it will be at MSG, and they'll bury all the tickets (ala LCD or Strokes) and make it look like a sellout, which will drive up demand and make every hipster want to go.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:19 AM

I saw the Stone Roses play the Hammerstein the night after the band's drummer quit. The show was just off. Ian seemed drunk and unenthused. The beats weren't right.

Still, I would really like to see the Stone Roses another time. The band's debut album is a masterpiece.

Ok, I unsuccessfully tried to submit Jay-Z/ Kanye tour dates as Stone Roses dates. BV, you win! Sorry BV, I will go back to normal comments. Love Stone Roses, Love BV! Rock on!

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:36 AM

does anyone know what the set times are going to be for the NYC shows?

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:36 AM

One relevant record and everything following was mildly disappointing at best. In the end this reunion is just going to tarnish the fond memory anyone has left that wasn't already destroyed. Promoters should consider teaming the Stone Roses up with Guns N Roses for a world tour of let downs.

A real War of the Roses

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:40 AM

To the kind soul who gave me a boost during the amazing performance of stone roses, I'd like to see the pictures your friend took of me clutching on your back likely crushing your chest

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 11:49 AM

@11:36 #2

Yeah, they'll go on at 9pm, show done by 11pm. No opener.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 12:01 PM

I'll have to listen to them again to see whether or not this is as big of deal it's going to be made out to be. My guess is "Not that much".

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 12:02 PM

looks like some geezers need some paper

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 12:10 PM

12:02...your opinion is meaningless, pointless and worthless! Please never share your ideas again.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 12:48 PM

i like the stone roses, but seriously the MOST overrated band ever. They had one good album, that was basically a sub-par oasis record.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 1:12 PM

12:38 is an idiot. This is Stone Roses, not the fuckin' Beatles.

Retard.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 1:23 PM

Stone Roses are overrated. No doubt.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 1:23 PM

12:43 - he is one fugly limey, idn't he now?

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 1:24 PM

Nobody cares what you (a moron) thinks a bout this band. Let's hear what your idols think.........

"Listening to Squire and the Roses on BBC nightly was my guitar teacher." - Jonny Greenwood

"I had at least 5 copies of the first Stone Roses album because they kept wearing out and friends would lend them to friends." - Kevin Shields

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 1:34 PM

Pretzels & The Stone Roses First album got me through my rough years of high school - frohawk

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 1:47 PM

It should be a requirement for all reuniting bands that they have new material, and new material that is actually good

Posted by Krikey | October 18, 2011 1:49 PM

12:10: You're overreacting. It just seems like the hype is going to be too much for it's own good. I don't think I was even being that much of an ass either. In fact, I've liked what I know of these guys.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 3:05 PM

YAWN

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 3:51 PM

Ok 3:05, sorry for being over-harsh. I though you were being a troll, but now you cleared thing up. I understand where you're coming from then. Have a good one man!

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 3:59 PM

^ Haha, thanks for the understanding. Trolling is too easy and boring here anyways. Enjoy the day!

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 4:30 PM

Cool.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 4:48 PM

YOU ME MACHINE + CHIXXX > STONE ROSES + BEATLES

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 5:50 PM

It's YOU/ME/MACHINE actually. Nice try though

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 6:02 PM

^WHATEVER, TROLL

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2011 6:04 PM

The Roses are one of the top 2/3 British bands in the past 30 years. If you don't understand the significance in this glorious day then their truly is no hope for you..

Posted by Aeronaves | January 22, 2012 5:42 PM

i beg to differ on at "never caught on in the US..." comment. everyone who dug good music back in the 90's dug the roses...problem was they were all poor teenagers at the time...now they they all have jobs and are willing to spend whateva it takes to go see them in Philly, LA, or chicago... book a venue, we will come...

Posted by tbonus | June 9, 2012 1:04 AM
